The offer was too much to pass up, so Fowler gave a commitment on Wednesday to Sacramento State. On Tuesday afternoon, Apollo High School’s talented 5-foot-11 senior point guard Holland Woods Jr. decided to pull the trigger and end his college recruitment – giving a verbal commitment to Portland State University. Woods’ commitment was a big one for the coaching staff at Portland State, who had been recruiting Woods for some time. The Arizona Preps staff had a very busy weekend covering several events held in Phoenix. On Sunday we observed many of the games held at this year’s Southwest Exposure Showcase, organized by long-time successful tournament organizer Ron Coleman. The Super 80 Showcase took place this weekend on the campus of Arizona Christian University, with several other events taking place over the weekend as well. Organized by tournament organizer Chad Groth, the event included numerous prospects that were looking to make a name for themselves with the college coaches, scouts and media in attendance.
