The top remainning recruiting target in Arizona’s 2017 senior class is Tri-City Christian’s 6-foot-8 senior post Nigel Shadd.  As a result, Shadd has been generating much more recruiting interest as of late.  With a couple visits lined up for himself this fall, Shadd will take a big official recruiting visit to a Big-12 program for his first visit this weekend. This weekend, Shadd will visit Kansas State University for his first official recruiting visit.  Shad received an offer from K-State during the summer in June, so this opportunity could be hard for Shadd to pass up.  Especially when you consider…

The college recruitment of 6-foot-5 sophomore wing Josh Green has really picked up this fall, as college coaches are out making the rounds – looking at young talent around the country.  After receiving several division-I offers this summer, on Thursday evening Green received his biggest division-I offer to date – a big PAC-12 offer. While watching Green work out at Hillcrest Prep Academy, Cal head coach Cuonzo Martin decided to make an offer to Green.  The offer makes a lot of sense, especially when you consider that Green played this spring and summer with the heavily Nike-sponsored Oakland Soldiers -…

No one helped themselves more with their play at this past weekend’s West Coast Elite All-Star Camp event more than Shadow Mountain High School’s 5-foot-11, 160-pound sophomore guard Jaelyn House.  While House built a name for himself last season while helping lead his Matadors to a state title, he turned in a stellar performance on Sunday. House is among the elite prospects in Arizona’s 2019 class, and, while he is still small in stature, he is a technician on the basketball court – surveying the floor and making plays off the dribble almost at will.  He showed off his superior…

One of the elite prospects right now in the state of Arizona is St. Mary’s High School’s versatile post prospect, 6-foot-10, 205-pound junior KJ Hymes.  Hymes has as much upside as we have seen in recent years in the state of Arizona, and division-I college coaches are taking serious notice.  The talented and sizeable prospect has received 15 different division-I offers as a result. Hymes performed at a very high level all spring and summer with the Las Vegas Prospects – a heavily Nike-sponsored EYBL team that year in and year out produces some of the best players in the…

Last weekend, the Area Codes Frosh Soph Showcase event, organized by NCAA Certified scout Chad Groth, took place at Mesa High School.  The event was well attended and Arizona Preps was on job, as we were able to bring you our list of top performers  from this exciting exposure event for the state’s best up-and-coming basketball prospects. While the event, of course, did not have all of the state’s top young prospects, and there are many, there was a nice crop of young talent.  Of the players in attendance – here are my list of top performers from this year’s…

Arizona Western Junior College and Alaska native 6-foot-7 sophomore forward Kwintin Williams was the top returning junior college prospect in Arizona’s ACCAC junior college conference this season, before he decided to do an academic redshirt. After a strong freshman season for Pima head coach Brian Peabody, Williams was prepared to have a big sophomore campaign.  But after he decided to transfer junior college programs this season and land at Arizona Western Junior College in Yuma, AZ, Williams learned that he would have to sit his sophomore year. Williams is currently still receiving loads of division-I college interest, as such programs…

One of the top prospects in Arizona’s talented 2019 class is Apollo High School’s 6-foot-5 long and rangy sophomore forward Emmanuel Taban.  Taban emerged this club season as a talented and budding young prospect for the future.  Here is my take on one of the state’s top rising recruiting targets for the future. Taban is one prospect that I have identified in the state of Arizona that college coaches will soon be identifying as a nice college prospect for them to take a hard look at.  Such attention in the future should soon lead to numerous scholarship offers for Taban…

The top remainning recruiting target in Arizona’s 2017 senior class is Tri-City Christian’s 6-foot-8 senior post Nigel Shadd.  Shadd has been among the top prospects in the class for some time, but now he is coming into his own as a college prospect.  With several official recruiting visits already lined up for himself, Shadd has a couple new high major division-I suitors for himself. Already this fall, Shadd has scheduled three different official recruiting visits for himself to Pacific, Nevada and Virigina Commonwealth (VCU).  Shadd has not indicated whether or not he has a leader at this point in the…
