The state of Arizona is already loaded with some top-rated national talent at all classes for college coaches to take a hard look at.  Now another national prospect has emerged in the state, as elite 6-foot-9 incoming freshman prospect Sadraque Nganga has landed in Arizona and will pick up his career at AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona.  Nganga has already received rave reviews internationally, and now he should become one of the most sought after recruiting targets in the nation’s 2022 class of prospects. I first caught my glimpse of Nganga earlier this year while he was playing in the HoopHall West…

One of the elite overall prospects in Arizona’s talented 2019 Class is Shadow Mountain High School’s gifted and skilled 5-foot-10, 165-pound rising senior point guard Jovan Blacksher.  Blacksher is a unique guard talent that has had a superb high school career and is coming off another terrific season for himself. After recently leading the Nike-sponsored Team Why Not to the finals of this year’s Nike Peach Jam on ESPN, Blacksher should see a nice improvement in his overall college recruitment. While he already has numerous scholarship offers for himself, Blacksher received his biggest offer to date this week after his performance last weekend – reeling in…

The month of July could not have gotten off to a better start for two of Arizona’s elite prospects – Shadow Mountain’s rising senior guard Javon Blacksher and Mountain Pointe’s senior post Jalen Graham.  The two prospects led Nike-sponsored Team Why Not to the finals of this year’s Nike Peach Jam on ESPN.  As a result, both prospects should see a nice improvement in their overall college recruitment. Blacksher already has seen a nice level of college recruitment for himself, but he is definitely worthy of more recruitment for himself.  Blacksher currently has offers from many schools already, as he…

Chaparral High School’s sharp-shooting 6-foot-6 rising senior wing Alec Bryan had an excellent weekend for himself in this weekend’s West Coast Elite Summer Kick-Off, despite overcoming serious recent adversity for himself.  Bryan shot the covering off the ball this weekend and with serious range, as his Powerhouse Hoops Schumaker team cruised to numerous victories in the event. Last weekend, while preparing himself for a big July, Bryan worked out with his personal trainer, the now deceased Billy Knight.  Knight took his own life late last weekend, just hours after working out Alec in a gym.  Alec was very close to…

While he was regarded very early as a nice potential prospect for the future, 6-foot-10 rising senior post Lucas Elliott has developed at his own rate.  With serious hard work and natural maturity, Elliott has developed nicely into a serious college prospect these days.  As a result, Elliott is looking to have a strong July. Elliott has gotten off to an excellent start this July also, as he performed very well in the recent Southwest All-American Camp, where was selected as an all-star performer in the event.  He then followed up that performance with a strong performance this weekend in…

Introducing another very talented young prospect in the state – Paradise Honors High School’s 6-foot-2 rising sophomore guard Jalen Scott.  Fresh off an all-star performance in this year’s Southwest All-American Camp, Scott caught my attention quickly as a result of his unique ability to play the game. Scott was one of the more talked about prospects before this year’s event, so I was looking forward to seeing him perform.  I would not be disappointed either, as Scott would turn in a serious performance in this year’s event and would display an ability to handle the basketball and make players around…

One player that took full advantage of his opportunities at this year’s Southwest All-Amercian Camp was Moon Valley High School’s 6-foot rising junior guard Trent Hudgens .  Hudgens has been regarded as one of the better young players in the state since entering the Arizona high school ranks, but in this year’s camp he put it all together and raised his overall stock as a college prospect. Hudgens is a nice guard prospect with a slick handle of the basketball and an ability to make plays for himself and others almost at will.  He plays with a high level of…

This year’s 2nd annual Southwest All-American Camp was terrific and loaded with basketball talent.  One player that emerged from this year’s camp and is now one of the hottest young prospects in the state is 6-foot-3 rising junior guard Ty Harper.  Harper recently moved to the state of Arizona from Georgia, and is now in the process of finding a school for himself. Harper will now look to decide on a school for next fall, and could decide between a prep school and a top-rated AIA high school program in the state.  Regardless of which direction he decides to go,…

The Southwest All-American Camp took place this past weekend @ Cortez High School over two days, and featured much of the state’s top talent, as well as some top prospects from around the West. This year’s second annual event was filled with major excitement after a successful event last year.  I joined forces once again with Gregg Rosenberg of Rivals.com, one of the hardest working scouts in the country, to bring a better of version of this event in a second year.  We also joined forces with Justin Vargas of Relentless to make this year’s event second to none in Arizona. The event was a major success with those…
