Another prospect that cashed in during the spring and summer NCAA Evaluation period was 2018 Ironwood High School graduate, 6-foot-7 prep forward Ajang Aguek.  After seeing very little college recruitment throughout his high school career, Aguek played through the spring and summer and raised eyebrows with his play and high motor. Aguek had a strong summer performance especially for himself, but his best performance came in this summer’s Fab 48 event when Aguek gained a lot of recruiting attention from college coaches.  I received numerous phone calls regarding Aguek this summer, and now it has paid off for him, as…

Tucson’s Amphitheater High School’s 6-foot-3 talented senior guard prospect Jackson Ruai is one of the state’s most athletically gifted talents in the 2019 class, and is coming off a strong showing for himself this summer.  After an MVP performance in this summer’s Southwest All-American Camp, and a superb performance during the NCAA’s evaluation period, Ruai is preparing himself for a college commitment this fall. It has taken awhile for Bella Vista Prep 7-foot-1, 220-pound senior post prospect Rick Issanza to see his college recruitment take off to the level I had expected when I first saw him perform three years ago, but it has now picked up a great deal and seems to be making up for lost time.  Last week, Issanza had a big week of offers and could become one of the hottest prospects in America’s 2019 class this fall, and possibly next spring. Late last week, after waiting for his college recruitment to take off, Issanza received two big offers from members of the…

Last week, after having a strong performance for himself this summer while playing for Billups Elite (CO), Tshimanga received an offer from the University of Dayton and took an official recruiting visit to the school.  Billups Elite is a club program organized…

One of the top prospects to watch in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) this fall is Arizona Western Junior College 6-foot-8 sophomore combo-forward Andre Allen.  One of the top returning prospects in the conference, Allen is coming off a strong summer performance in two different juco events held by national junior college scout Jerry Mullen. I caught Allen in action in the recent All-American JUCO Showcase Elite 80 event in Las Vegas, the last weekend of the NCAA evaluation period.  Allen was among the standout performers in the event, after also having a strong performance for himself in…

One junior college prospect that will look to have a big sophomore season for himself is Cochise College’s returning 6-foot-8, 220-pound sophomore forward Justus Rainwater.  Rainwater played very well recently in Las Vegas at the All-American JUCO Showcase Elite 80, a high-level junior college event organized by basketball aficionado Jerry Mullen. At the event, Rainwater was among the top overall prospects that I observed.  In an event where the majority of players in the competition look to score the basketball, Rainwater played extremely hard on both ends of the floor and showed an excellent motor.  He rebounded hard, ran the…
