Central Arizona Junior College 7-foot, 220-pound sophomore post Trever Irish is among the best low-post prospects returning in the NJCAA ranks this junior college season, and definitely among the top overall returning prospects in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) this up-and-coming junior college season.  Irish is set to take an official recruiting visit to a school from the Big-West Conference this weekend. The Area Codes Frosh/Soph Camp took place this past weekend, and, again, featured many of the state’s top overall underclassmen prospects from the state of Arizona.  Organized by Tournament Director Chad Groth, the event is always exciting as it gives our staff a good idea of who to watch for in the future. The time has arrived after 20 years of events, the amazing 20th Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase, Arizona’s original showcase basketball event, will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 20th and 21st, 2018 and will be making it’s return to the very nice venue – Inspire Courts, located at 1090 North Fiesta Blvd, Gilbert, Arizona 85233. The West Coast Elite Arizona All-Star Camp will be held this weekend at The PHH Facility, located at 4600 Cotton Gin Loop, Phoenix AZ 85040.  The event will include a Youth Division and also a High School Division for the event, and will include numerous top scouts in the West for the event. The Moon Valley program has produced some of the top prospects in the state’s history, and now the program has risen back to a very serious level as the program has received a serious transfer in 6-foot-3 junior guard Ty Harper.  Harper recently moved to the state of Arizona via the state of Georgia, and now will team up nicely with junior guard Trent Hudgens to give the Rockets a formidable duo in the state’s 4A Division. After recently deciding to become a member of Arizona’s and the nation’s 2019 Class, and advancing to his natural grade of high school, Pinnacle High School’s superstar guard Nico Mannion is nearing his college decision, as he now has his sights set on two different college programs.  The historically gifted Arizona prospect will soon make his college decision between the University of Arizona and Marquette University. One of the top overall prospects in Arizona’s loaded 2020 Class is AZ Compass Prep’s 6-foot-2 junior guard Jalin Anderson.  Anderson received a nice player ranking in our recent player rankings in our quarterly Arizona Hoop Review scouting report that is sent out to college coaches.  He is coming off a strong performance this spring and summer, and now has one scholarship offer on the table for himself. One of the top overall prospects in Arizona’s 2019 Class is narrowing his focus on a college decision, as Apollo High School’s talented 6-foot-7, 180-pound senior wing prospect Emmanuel Taban has trimmed his list of final schools down to two college programs. Taban is coming off a very good spring and summer performance for himself, where he reeled in numerous scholarship offers for himself.  Taban would earn offers from such college programs as Texas Tech, Kansas State, Nevada, UC-Santa Barbara, Grand Canyon, Wyoming, Portland State and Southern Utah throughout the club season.
