One of the top returning prospects in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) is now off the recruiting board early in the the recruiting process for himself, as Arizona Western Junior College 6-foot-8, 210-pound sophomore combo-forward Andre Allen has made his college decision - choosing a member of the Mid-Atlantic Conference for his future home.
Allen is one of the top returning prospects in the ACCAC conference this season, and has become one of the better juco prospects in the West. He is also coming off a strong summer performance in two different juco events held by national junior college scout Jerry Mullen, and was seriously picking up recruiting steam with numerous college programs before making his college decision this weekend.
Rather than wait for spring to make his college decision, like many junior college prospects, or even decide this fall, Allen found his fit early and has decided to make a decision to sign this fall with the University at Buffalo. Allen becomes Buffalo head coach Nate Oats and his basketball staff's first commitment for the 2019 class.
Allen chose Buffalo over offers from Iona and Montana State.
Allen is a long and lengthy and skilled combo-forward prospect that has a nice overall skillset and plays the game at a nice pace. His promise as a college prospect is glaring and he is a nice addition to any college program looking to add versatility to their frontcourt.
Allen is primed to have a big sophomore season for himself, as he looks to lead Arizona Western to the top of the conference standings this season.
Congratulations from our Arizona Preps' staff to Allen and the Arizona Western Junior College program on this tremendous accomplishment by Allen.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Allen is a taller and lengthy, but versatile combo-forward prospect with a good approach to the game, which allows him to get a lot done on both ends of the floor. He is a no-nonsense prospect that makes basketball plays and looks to play with a purpose. He runs the floor hard and is a good finisher in transition, and also makes plays for himself and others in the halfcourt set. He is a good finisher around the paint and gets to the free-throw line often as a result of his activity around the basket. He is a good shooter of the basketball out to three-point distance and also can score from mid-range and in the post - displaying excellent versatility overall as a player. He is an active rebounder that rebounds outside of his area. He is a capable shotblocker. A solid ball handler. A very good passer that finds the open man on the floor. A solid overall prospect that is consistent in his overall play. A very good sleeper juco prospect.
