In what as event for the ages, the 2nd Annual Native American Jr. Nationals took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, recently. Each team, consisted of players of native descent, and competed on a high level to become the national champions. Below are some of the standouts from the event (In no particular order). Caleb Cole, 2023, 6’7, Forward, Colstrip High School A long and athletic forward who can score from all three levels. He excels on the offensive glass where his quick second-jump allows him to snatch boards and score in the paint. Defensively, he can guard multiple positions and…

In a match-up of two teams with a combined (33) wins and only (3) total losses, Scottsdale Christian took on San Tan Charter in a nail biter. San Tan Charter is a team with a rich history in competing in the CAA, with hopes to become the first team to win a CAA Championship, and then win an AIA State Championship the next year. Scottsdale Christian came into the game looking to keep their almost perfect season going. Scottsdale Christian is led by their “Big Three” (pictured) of 2022 SG Garrison Sherman, 2022 F Braden Wales and 2021 PG Matthew…
In a highly anticipated Section 6 match-up, the Queen Creek Bulldogs (0-3) traveled to Phoenix to take on the Desert Vista Thunder (2-1). Desert Vista, the returning state champs, looked a lot different without their former coach Gino Crump, and a ton of roster turnover. The Thunder lost former star center Oso Igodaro to grduation, and he is now playing on the college stage at Marquette, 2021 PF John Solomon who transferred out of state, Dasean Lecque who transferred to Hillcrest Prep and 2021 Guard Marcus Wady who transferred to Bella Vista Prep. In what most would deem unimaginable, the annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase event (22nd Annual) went on, even through a pandemic. With several precautions being taken, it went on successfully. Below are some of the top prospects I witnessed from the event . . . Jordan Redmon 6 ft 2, 2021, PG, Apache Junction Jordan showcased nice athleticism. He is capable of scoring around the rim with strong driving finishes and is capable of scoring from the mid-range off the dribble. Kobe Mott, 6 ft, 2021, Combo Guard, Ben Franklin Kobe is a score first guard with a nice jump…
If you are a true Hoops fan there was no better place to be than in Phoenix last weekend for The Border League. It gave fans the opportunity to see many top prospects shine bright on a huge platform, provided by national televised games on ESPN. No star shined brighter than senior guard Jaden Hardy (pictured left) who put on a show to start his senior season off with a bang. Already a consensus Top 5 recruit in the 2021 class, Hardy performed like he had a point to prove. Taking on national power houses Minnehaha Academy (MN), Prolific Prep…
In the first official game on AZ Compass Prep’s newly renovated court, the Dragons took on their first test of the season against Desert Valley Prep. AZ Compass, led by the highly touted combination of senior guards Ty Ty Washington (pictured left) and Alden Applewhite (pictured right), came into the game as the 13th ranked overall team in the nation, and Desert Valley came in looking to shake up the prep hoops’ world with their combination of tough guards and long bigs. To begin the game, Desert Valley kept things close, behind the aggressive play of their lead 2022 guard…
In what has been the most “interesting” summer/fall of prep hoops, things seem to be getting somewhat back to normal, as high school basketball in the valley kicked things off this week with the Arizona Compass Fall League. In a renovated gym, there is no better way to show your new digs than hosting one of the first high school events in the state. From the first night of the event, here are the players that stood out to Arizona Preps’ scout Tye Jacobs (Was Not Able to attend 5PM game W/ San Tan Charter VS AZ Compass Prep Green)…
