The Super Bowl Prep Showcase took place this weekend and was presented by Planet Athlete and Tournament Organizer Eric Bowman.  Held on the campus of AZ Compass Prep, the event featured such local prep programs as Hillcrest Prep, AZ Compass Prep and Planet Athlete, and also featured some prep programs from abroad. Shadow Mountain High School is the class of the state of Arizona, and has been the state’s most dominant basketball program for many years now – almost unbeatable for any program in Arizona.  Led by former NBA point guard and Arizona basketball legend Mike Bibby, the program continues to reach new heights each season. Pinnacle High School’s superstar 6-foot-3 senior guard Nico Mannion (University of Arizona signee) is the best overall guard in the nation’s 2019 Class.  Recently, Mannion was selected as a 2019 McDonald’s All-American.  Mannion will compete on a loaded roster of players at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on March 27th. Joining Mannion on the West Roster will be former Arizona high school basketball product Josh Green (University of Arizona signee).  Green left the state of Arizona last season to play for a dominant IMG Academy in Florida – leaving Hillcrest Prep after they had just won a National Championship on the Grind Circuit.  Green will have two teammates from IMG joining…

The University of Arizona has come back in a major way after a spring recruiting season (2018) where they saw several of their top-rated prospects de-commit from the program.  Just a recruiting period later, the program returned to dominance – landing several of the top prospects in the country, each with Arizona ties. After signing superstar guard Nico Mannion of Pinnacle HS and Josh Green of IMG Academy (FL), a former Arizona product, the Wildcats also signed Bella Vista Prep’s gifted 2019 prospect, 6-foot-7, 175-pound senior wing Terry Armstrong.
