Corona Del Sol High School’s 5-foot-6 freshman guard Taylor Kalmer is a big-time rising talent in the state of Arizona.  The ultra-talented 2015 prospect is fresh off a very strong freshman season for the Aztecs, and, recently, she was selected as this year’s Tournament Most Valuable Player at the 2012 Southwest Showcase Main Event – a tournament organized by Ron Coleman. Boulder Creek High School’s ultra-skilled 6-foot-4, 190-pound junior guard Josh Braun is among the elite prospects in Arizona’s 2013 class. Braun is coming off an excellent junior season in which he led his Boulder Creek team to a 20-7 overall record on the season. Braun averaged a team-high in points and rebounds – averaging 18.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per/game, while playing almost every position on the floor for head coach Randy Walker. Cochise Junior College won the regular season ACCAC Conference title after a 16-4 record in the conference this season. A major reason for the program’s success this season was the play of 6-foot-3, 190-pound sophomore guard Nathan Sobey.  With his play this season, Sobey was selected as a First Team All Conference and also a First Team Division-I All Region selection after the season. Former St. Mary’s High School graduate and Westwind Prep post-grad George Matthews is now on the move. After signing a division-I scholarship in the fall of 2010 with the University of Utah and spending a freshman season under first-year head coach Larry Krystkowiak, Matthews has decided to get his release from the PAC-12 program and look abroad. Tucson Amphitheater High School’s 6-foot-6, 225-pound senior post Charles Benson is still on the recruiting board this spring, although he had one of the best high school basketball careers in the state of Arizona to date. Benson helped lead his Amphi varsity program to an 88-9 record over the past three seasons and three straight trips to the state championship – winning the state title in 2011.  This season, Benson and Amphi lost in the title game to Peoria HS (50-48), after a basket in the final seconds by Peoria.
