It was a very good season for Eduprize High School’ 6-foot-3, 170-pound junior guard Isaiah Floyd.  After helping his new program to their first ever CAA Division-I title and a terrific 26-1 overall record on the season, Floyd raised his overall level of play throughout the high school season.  He is now ready and taking his game to new heights in preparation for the spring and summer, and should raise many eyebrows with his overall play and approach to the game. It was a big weekend for Bella Vista Prep talented 6-foot-3 junior guard Jeron Artest, as he helped lead his program to a National Championship victory in the Grind Session’s National Tournament held in Kentucky over the weekend.  After a superb tournament performance, in which he played excellent defense and also scored the basketball nicely in the biggest games of the event, Artest has received another offer to his credit. This weekend, Artest received an offer from UT-Martin after his strong performance in the event.  Artest already possesses offers from the University of Wyoming and also St. John’s University. It was a huge weekend for Bella Vista Prep and Arizona basketball, as Bella Vista would join Hillcrest Prep as winners of the Grind Session’s National Championship, after the program got their revenge and defeated top-rated Spire Academy (OH) by a narrow margin this weekend, 96-94, in front of a large crowd in Kentucky – an amazing accomplishment for Head Coach Kyle Weaver, his staff and his team of talented prospects. This week, the ACCAC announced their All-ACCAC Teams in the conference and their awards for the 2018-2019 junior college season.  Cochise Junior College (26-5, 20-2) had a terrific season this year – winning the conference regular season title and leading the way for much of the season.  It is only right that members of the Cochise program would, once again, lead the way in this year’s awards. 5-foot-11, 150-pound sophomore guard Abram Carrasco has had an excellent career at Pima Junior College, after graduating from Cholla High School in Tucson.  After a terrific sophomore season for the gifted guard prospect, Carrasco broke the Pima All-Time Career Scoring Record on Wednesday evening in his team big Region-I, Division-II semi-final win over Glendale Junior College, 101-77 at home.  In the game, Carrasco finished with 12 points, but, in the process, he broke former Pima standout Greg Cook’s scoring record, set in 1980 of 1,240 points.
