In very surprising fashion on Saturday, it was announced that Hillcrest Prep 6-foot-1, 160-pound senior guard Caleb Christopher has given a verbal commitment to the Arizona State Sun Devils - a major announcement for both the local PAC-12 program and also the Hillcrest Prep basketball program.

Christopher is the older brother of talented 5-Star wing prospect, Joshua Christopher who played last spring and summer for the heavily sponsored Cal Supreme (CA) club program.  You can read between the lines, but this is an excellent move for the Sun Devils in their future attempt to land the younger, much more talented prospect.

Caleb Christopher is a skilled guard prospect that is a floor general that makes plays for himself off the dribble, and also enjoys setting up his teammates for scores and offensive opportunities.  He is a very good ball handler and passer, and is a good penetrator and finisher in the lane.  He advances the basketball up the floor to the open man, and thrives in an up-temp offensive attack.  A good shooter with range.  A very good on-the-ball defender with quick hands and feet.

A native of Lakewood, CA, Christopher joins Jaelen House and Jalen Graham for Arizona State's 2019 recruits, which is very impressive for the state of Arizona, as Head Coach Bob Hurley has shown his tremendous commitment to the state of Arizona's top talent - signing (3) different Arizona products in one class.  This is amazing for Arizona basketball - proving just how much the state has truly developed in the sport.
