One of the most talented prospects in America's loaded 2027 class is beginning to see his college recruitment pick up, and I believe there is much more to come. CIA Bella Vista Prep 6-foot-7, 200-pound rising senior wing Jalen White recently received an offer from West Virginia, giving the talented wing prospect another significant high-major opportunity. White already holds offers from the University of Oregon and Cal State Bakersfield, but his recruitment has developed somewhat slowly considering his overall talent, athleticism and long-term potential. I expect that to change substantially during his senior season.

White is currently ranked among the nation’s top prospects in the 2027 class, and I believe he is deserving of even greater national recognition. He has the physical tools, athleticism and continued skill development to eventually emerge as a Top-50 national prospect, if not higher, when everything is said and done. He is currently ranked #70 by ESPN among the nation's 2027 Class.

The West Virginia offer is especially interesting because of the Mountaineers’ developing connection with the Bella Vista Prep program. West Virginia’s current roster features several former Bella Vista Prep standouts, including Miles Sadler, Aliou Dioum, Amadou Seini and Mouhamed Sylla. Sadler, Dioum and Seini committed to West Virginia out of Bella Vista, while Sylla also joined the Mountaineers after a transfer from Georgia Tech. West Virginia’s continued attention to Bella Vista makes White another intriguing prospect for the Mountaineers as his recruitment continues to develop.

White is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, and has taken an interesting path throughout his high school career. He previously spent time at AZ Compass Prep before making the move to Bella Vista Prep. White also made the decision earlier in his career to reclassify from the 2026 class into the 2027 class. That decision has benefited him tremendously. The additional year has allowed White more time to physically mature, improve his overall skill level and develop into a much more complete basketball prospect. At 6-foot-7 and 200 pounds, he now possesses excellent size for the wing position to go along with elite-level athleticism.

White is simply one of the best athletes in Arizona’s 2027 class and, in my opinion, among the better athletes nationally in the class. He is an explosive, above-the-rim performer and a highlight reel waiting to happen in the open floor. White finishes extremely strong at the rim and has the athletic ability to elevate and finish over defenders. His combination of size, length, strength and explosiveness makes him extremely difficult to contain when he gets downhill. White is an excellent slasher who attacks the basket aggressively, but his offensive game has also continued to expand. Over the past several years, he has worked hard to improve his perimeter shooting and now possesses a nice shooting stroke with range. He has also continued to improve his ability to create shots for himself off the dribble, giving him the potential to become a much more complete offensive weapon at the college level.

White has also continued to prove himself against elite national competition. He previously earned MVP honors at the Pangos All-West Frosh/Soph Camp, an early indication of the talent and potential that he possessed. This past spring and summer, White had an excellent showing while competing for the heavily Nike-sponsored Arizona Unity program on the Nike EYBL circuit. He also performed very well at this summer’s prestigious Pangos All-American Camp, where he competed against many of the nation’s premier prospects. Those performances further confirmed what I have believed about White for some time, as this is an excellent sleeper prospect nationally who deserves considerably more attention from Division-I college programs.

White has considerable upside as a player also. As White enters his senior season at Bella Vista Prep, I expect his recruitment to increase substantially. He will compete on one of the nation’s premier prep basketball stages, and will have numerous opportunities to perform in front of high-major college coaches throughout the season.

The West Virginia offer is another important step in that process, but I do not expect it to be the last significant program to become involved. White is definitely one to watch closely in Arizona’s 2027 class. He is an elite-level athlete with excellent size and an improving overall offensive skill set, and I believe his best basketball is still ahead of him.

I will continue to follow White’s college recruitment closely throughout his senior season and bring you any recruiting updates as they continue to develop.
