Over the next few days we will be unveiling a team preview from some of the teams competing in the 2nd Annual Arizona Preps Summer Clash. This summer we have expanded the field to (16) teams. All of the teams participating qualified for the state playoffs in their respective divisions. Southern Arizona Prep’s talented and athletic 6-foot-7 junior post Achol Magot’s stock has been flying through the roof lately. Magot is a double-double machine, as she has amazing shot blocking and rebounding ability. I witnessed her impressive defensive presence during her high school season, as she went for 24 rebounds and 12 blocks in the game I observed.  One concern is her offensive game, however with putting in hard work with her Coach and Trainer Vince Lombardi, her finishing ability and mid-range jumper has improved tremendously. The GC3 Hoops Grand Prix Series is a series of basketball events to provide a platform for student-athletes to be discovered and recruited. The series has (4) high school events – (2) in the Fall and (2) in the Summer (open to high school teams). The events will be attended by some of the top regional basketball scouting services, media and college coaches. The power of the Pangos Platform has come back to Phoenix as Scouting Legend Dinos Trigonis hosts the Pangos Best of Arizona League. Phoenix has been a hotbed for basketball talent in recent years with the rise of National Prep Programs. This league has been a pivotal point for college recruitment for numerous prospects. Excitement is brewing in the building as pool play is wrapping up and the launch of the Lindy Waters III Camp. This event has been a treat as the Midwest has been represented well. Besides hardware on the line, Tribe Athletics has brought in the top scouts and evaluators to assist with the Individual Power Rankings. The rankings will provide a greater platform for college recruitment for Indigenous Student Athletes. Tribe Athletics has extended their reach to new territories with the goal to provide a top notch exposure platform to Indigenous Student-Athletes across North America. This Spring has been eventful, as they host the Native American Midwest Tournament of Champions in Wichita, Kansas. Pulling the strings and calling the shots behind the scenes are the Godfathers of Native American Basketball, Directors Jon Yarrow Jr. and Cameron Smith. Yarrow and Smith are very instrumental in helping hundreds of Indigenous Student-Athletes gain exposure to college scouts and coaches since 2018. Last summer’s Arizona Preps Summer Clash was eventful as (8) of the state’s premier programs went to war, with Salpointe Catholic edging out a scrappy Gilbert Tigers team in the final. Salpointe went on to win the 4A Girls State Championship this past season, and Gilbert finished in the Final Four of the 5A Girls State Championship Tournament.  This summer’s 2nd Annual event is shaping up to be the biggest and best high school girls event to kick off the Summer.
