2nd Annual Arizona Preps Summer Clash

Last summer’s Arizona Preps Summer Clash was eventful as (8) of the state’s premier programs went to war, with Salpointe Catholic edging out a scrappy Gilbert Tigers team in the final. Salpointe went on to win the 4A Girls State Championship this past season, and Gilbert finished in the Final Four of the 5A Girls State Championship Tournament.

This summer’s 2nd Annual event is shaping up to be the biggest and best high school girls event to kick off the Summer. This year, Poston Butte High School is hosting our event, which is centrally located between Phoenix and Tucson, and with first class facilities. We are grateful to Head Coach Savannah Bix for her hospitality.

New for this year’s event is the expanded tournament field to (16) teams. The teams participating are all state tournament qualifiers with a combined power-point regular season record of 222-58.

It will be interesting to see the match-ups, as we have (2) Canyon Athletic Association teams ready to compete with the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) member schools.

Ridgeline Academy won the CAA Division-I Girls Championship under up-and-coming Coach Marcel Santelli. Coach Santelli’s team returns most of their young core, as they look to make another run this upcoming season. Southern Arizona Prep is loaded with talent, as they have the tallest and best available post prospect in 6-foot-7 junior post Achol Magot.

Other top AIA teams in attendance, and with three losses or less, include Deer Valley, Thatcher, Canyon View, Cibola, Mountain Ridge, Flagstaff, Miami and Eastmark.

The field of (16) is strong and loaded with prospects. Since the field is so competitive, we will have some of the top girls scouts in the Southwest in attendance - Forrest Warren, Anthony Ray, and myself. We will also have college coaches in attendance, live-streaming and digital media coverage by The Varsity Breakdown.

Don’t miss out, we hope to see you there!
