The always exciting ACCAC JUCO Jamboree took place on Saturday @ Chandler-Gilbert Junior College, the host program for the event. Each year the Jamboree provides a pre-season insight into the league’s teams and also the top overall prospects to watch for during the season. One of my favorite events to scout annually, since I have a serious interest in juco prospects, I was in attendance throughout the day and was able to see many of the teams in action for this year’s event. Here are my top overall performers from the day, and the top prospects to watch for this…

There are still many uncommitted top-rated prospects in Arizona’s 2023 Class of seniors, and there will be many prospects to choose from this spring. One prospect that is definitely making his case to be recognized among the top available prospects for the spring is Liberty High School’s 6-foot-5 senior forward Caden Hunter. Hunter is one of my favorite overall prospects in the state, regardless of class. He is coming off a very good showing this past spring and summer, and also a strong junior season where he averaged a double-double. Liberty High School is one of my favorites to compete…
The exciting annual ACCAC JUCO Jamboree took place this weekend on the campus of Chandler-Gilbert Junior College, as each of the teams from the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) were in action for this annual event, in an attempt to showcase their teams before the season, and also give their teams a tune up before they start the exhibition season. I have attended the ACCAC JUCO Jamboree since I was in high school in the late 1980’s, and also played in it myself while playing for Pima Junior College in 1992. This event means a lot to me, more…
One of my favorite annual events, the Pangos All-West Frosh / Soph Camp, always does an excellent job of painting the picture for what the top future prospects in the West will look like for the next few years. This camp, organized by National Basketball Scout Dinos Trigonis (Pangos), always attracts the top talent in the West, and also is a main attraction for many of the nation’s top scouts and media to attend. This year’s version of the camp was no different, as there were many new faces in action over the two-day weekend event held at McBride High…

Dream City Christian Prep is among the nation’s elite prep programs, and is coming off having two different first-round NBA Draft picks in this summer’s NBA Draft, as Shaedon Sharpe (Portland Trailblazers) and MarJon Beauchamp (Milwaukee Bucks) both were drafted. The program continues to soar also, as the Dream City program expects (3) more of their past players to be drafted in next year’s draft (2023) – an amazing feat for a prep program. One of the top prospects in the program currently is on the rise, as 6-foot-7 junior wing prospect Travis Torain is making a lot of noise with Division-I college programs. While…
One of the elite prospects in Arizona’s 2023 Class is still looking to make his college decision this prep season, but it is still unclear as to whether he will do so this fall (early signing period) or late, in the spring. Dream City Christian Prep’s hard-working and skilled 6-foot-8, 210-pound senior forward David Tubek is a superb talent with excellent size and a college-ready body. Still on the recruiting board, Tubek has a nice list of Division-I offers for himself to choose from, and is set to have a big senior season for Dream City. Dream City Christian Prep…
Arizona Preps traveled to Los Angeles, CA, this weekend to take part in the exciting annual Pangos All-West Frosh / Soph Camp. This annual camp has been the proving ground for many of the top overall prospects in the West for many years, and this year’s event was no different, as there were many new faces in participation for the many college scouts and media that were in attendance for the weekend’s action. While there were more than 200+ prospects in action this weekend from the 2025, 2026 and 2027 classes, some Arizona prospects were in action as well for…
It has been a good spring and summer for Southern Arizona Prep’s 6-foot-7 senior post Achol Magot, as she saw her recruitment finally begin to pick up this past club season. After not receiving any offers for some time, Magot saw her recruitment take off, and now she is ready to make her college decision this Saturday, October 1st @ 1PM @ Sandra Day O’Connor High School in front of a nice amount of scouts and media at the event. The event will be featured LIVE on our Instagram social media outlets for Arizona Preps. Magot, who emerged at last…
With the 2022-2023 Arizona high school basketball season upon us, it is time to start looking at the high school programs to take a hard look at this season. One girl’s program that will be on completely another level this high school season, regardless of class or division, will be Desert Vista High School. Led by longtime successful and dedicated Head Coach Dave Williams, this year’s version of Desert Vista will be one to watch all season long, as The Thunder will be absolutely loaded this season, after a 6A State Championship runner-up finish last high school season. Dave Williams…
