With the start to the 2013-2014 high school basketball season upon us next week, the season looks a lot different now than it did last week.  While the season already seemed to be a very exciting one, it just got much more exciting as the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) did the right thing this week, and overturned their previous ruling – permitting South Mountain High School’s top-rated 2014 Arizona prospect, 6-foot-8 senior forward Zylan Cheatham (San Diego State signee) and Corona Del Sol’s bruising 6-foot-9 senior post Connor MacDougall (Arizona State signee) to be able to play this high school season. Recently, the AIA…

It has been a long road for New York native and talented Deer Park High School 5-foot-10 senior point guard Aaren Edmead.  As one of the top guard prospects in the state of New York, Edmead has developed his basketball talent over time through countless hours of hard work and dedication to his craft.  This week, Edmead would end a long college recruiting process for himself – signing a national letter of intent with Wagner University, a division-I program that competes in the Northeast Conference. Edmead would finally sign with Wagner during the early signing period, after first committing to another division-I program in…

After a long road of college recruiting, Pinnacle High School’s talented 6-foot-5 senior guard/forward Dorian Pickens has made his college decision.  On Wednesday, Pickens chose to sign a national letter of intent with Stanford University and head coach Johnny Dawkins – giving the Cardinal their second Arizona prospect from the 2014 class.  Stanford also signed Sunnyslope’s Michael Humphrey this month as well. Pickens saw his college recruitment begin very early as a freshman standout, as he received his first scholarship offer from the Arizona State Sun Devils.  But after going through a three-year recruiting process, Pickens decided that his best fit…

Another prospect in the state has mnade his decision early.  After mulling over his options for the future, Gilbert Christian High School’s talented 6-foot-4, 175-pound senior guard/forward Roberto Reyes has decided to sign a national letter of intent with Regis University – a division-II program located in the state of Washington.…

While many basketball enthusiasts around the state have quickly began to notice the name Cameron Satterwhite, his younger sister may just end up being the better college prospect.  While Cameron is a top-rated young prospect of his own already as a mere sophomore prospect in the state, Gilbert Christian High School’s 5-foot-6 freshman point guard Lauryn Satterwhite is preparing to make her impact felt on the Arizona varsity level this season. After the completion to a storied middle school basketball career, Satterwhite is now set to take center stage on the Arizona high school basketball varsity level.  Satterwhite has been regarded by many…

With many of Arizona’s top-rated senior prospects from the 2014 class signing this week, there are still loads of prospects in the state that will be available for college programs during the late signing period.  One of these prospects still available is developing quickly, and will become one of the better prospects this high school season for division-I college coaches to take a hard look in the spring. Desert Ridge High School’s 6-foot-8 senior forward Cameron Chatwin is that guy.  A rapidly-developing wing prospect that emerged on the recruiting scene last high school season, Chatwin has blossomed into a serious division-I prospect…

Wednesday began the NCAA Fall Signing Period across the state with many of the top-rated boys prospects in Arizona signing their national letters of intent with their respective programs.  I have billed the 2014 class of boys prospects in the state as the top class ever in the state of Arizona.  While there are still many of the state’s top student-athletes in the class still remaining unsigned for the spring evaluation period, many of the top-rated senior prospects got it done on Wednesday. I spent my evening at the home of 6-foot-3 senior guard Tate De Laveaga as he signed his national letter of intent with Northern…
