One of the better prospects in Arizona’s 2016 class is a player that was very seldom utilized last high school season.  Corona Del Sol High School’s 6-foot-4 rising senior wing Jeff McCain has won three-consecutive state basketball titles as an Aztec, but has yet to see any major playing time during the high school season.  As a result, McCain has utilized this club season to raise his level of play and prove that he is a player. McCain is a two-sport athlete and is a terrific volleyball player as well for Corona.  The athleticism gained during hours and hours of…

One of my favorite surprise performers of the spring was Tucson’s 6-foot-11, 220-pound rising senior post Brendan Rumel.  Rumel is a true post talent with excellent size and upside for the future.  After several performances this spring, the young post talent is drawing recruiting interest. Rumel is a rare find in the state of Arizona – a true low-post player with excellent size for the collegiate level.  As a result, you have to take a strong look at him and it seems that some college programs have already began to.  This July will be very important in Rumel’s future in…

It is still extremely early for Arizona’s 2018 class of prospects, but several prospects have already made a big name for themselves among the group.  One prospect that is currently emerging to the top of the class is Desert Vista High School’s rapidly developing 6-foot-10 rising sophomore post Steele Bennett.  Bennett is coming off a very good spring performance, and is already posting big games for his high school program during the month of June. Everyone in America is already aware of superstar post Marvin Bagley Jr., while other prospects in the class such as K.J. Hymes and Timmy Allen…

One prospect in the class that continues to improve and climb up the ladder among the other prospects in the 2016 class is Dysart High School’s 6-foot-10 rising senior post Malik Ondigo.  While still developing a great deal, Ondigo has developed quickly and has emerged as one of the elite post prospects in the class. After an excellent spring and summer (2014) for himself, Ondigo showed excellent improvement as a player and became a serious division-I college prospect.  He has continued his development throughout the high school season, and emerged as one of the top individual performers in the state last season. As…

Sunrise Mountain High School’s athletically gifted 6-foot-5, 200-pound junior wing prospect Elijah Thomas is a high-major athlete that probably would be looking at a future pro career in football as a tight-end if he chose to go that route, but instead, he is a versatile wing prospect that is capable of scoring from inside and out and excels in the open floor. Thomas has quickly emerged as one of the state’s top 2016 prospects, and is one prospect I will be keeping a very close eye on throughout the spring and summer evaluation periods.  Thomas is coming off an excellent…

Gilbert High School’s talented and skilled 6-foot-6 rising senior wing Chris Bowling is expecting a big and busy recruiting month of July for himself.  Bowling is definitely looking to reel in numerous scholarship offers this July, as he is a very talented prospect in the class.  For Bowling, the first offer will be one to remember, although so many offers should soon pour in, now as college coaches begin to focus on the 2016 class. Look for Bowling to catch fire soon this summer in his college recruitment and generate loads of recruiting interest for himself.  Here is a highlight…

Arizona’s 2016 class of prospects got much better this past season with the addition of 6-foot-5 rising senior forward Jay Green to the state of Arizona.  Green moved to Arizona from Australia and played last season for Hillcrest Academy Prep.  He will now play for Mountain Ridge High School next season, and will look to lead the Mountain Lions’ basketball program to a much stronger performance during the 2015-2016 basketball season. Mountain Ridge was once one of the top basketball programs in the state, and competed for state playoff berths and state titles each season.  After having several subpar seasons…

Arizona’s 2017 class of prospects is loaded with top-notch talent for the future, and looks to be one of the better classes the state has  seen.  One of the top overall prospects in the class is Tri-City Christian High School’s 6-foot-8 sophomore post Nigel Shadd.  Shadd has quickly emerged among the top prospects in the class, and also is among the top overall performers in the state. For his efforts, Shadd recently received his first of many scholarship offers that he should receive in the future.  Grand Canyon University was impressed enough by the talented prospect to offer him a…

One of the top overall prospects in Arizona’s 2016 class is 6-foot-7 junior wing Brock Gardner of Tri-City Christian Academy in Chandler, AZ.  After a stellar junior season where he did it all as a player for his team and put up tremendous numbers on the season, Gardner has received some serious recruiting interest for himself. While playing for a smaller high school program that does not compete against many of the state’s best teams, it is much more difficult to gain recruiting attention.  Gardner has been the answer throughout his high school career, as he has simply put up…
