One of the top guard prospects in Arizona’s 2017 class is 6-foot-1 rising junior guard Treyvon McCray.  McCray has been tearing up the hardwood for several years within the state, and this weekend he put it all together and had a very strong performance at the Pangos Summer Sweet 16 event in Los Angeles, CA. McCray raised some eyebrows with his play this weekend, and proved why our staff regards him as one of the best guard prospects in the class.  While playing for his talented club program, the Arizona Magic Elite 16U, McCray helped lead the team to a…

It was a very busy weekend for Arizona prospects, as many teams hit the road to take part in NCAA evaluation period events.  There were several other prospects that had big weekends as well.  Here are my other top-rated prospects that performed at a high level this weekend . Brock Gardner  6-7  SR  SF  Tri-Christian City Academy – 2016 – Brock Gardner has many skills to like and college coaches are showing their appreciation of this talented wing prospect.  He has tremendous versatility combined with very good size and is able to make plays for himself or others.  He has…

This weekend was a big one for club teammates, Elijah Thomas and Chris Bowling.  While soaring under the recruiting radar during the spring, both prospects would benefit themselves nicely in Los Angeles this weekend while leading their club program, the Arizona Magic Elite, to a 17U tournament championship at the Pangos Summer Sweet 16 event. No prospect in the event raised more eyebrows than Sunrise Mountain HS talented 6-foot-6 rising senior wing Elijah Thomas this weekend, as he absolutely blew up in this event.  Thomas had coaches at all levels intrigued by his raw talent and versatility.  This event was…

How sweet it is.  With the the recent rise of interest into the state of Arizona by college coaches around the country, the state is quickly becoming known for a hotbed for untapped basketball talent.  Many lesser known prospects this club season have received division-I scholarship offers.  This weekend, a group of talented but underrecruited prospects came together to win their second consecutive tournament of the summer, as the Arizona Magic Elite did what it took to win the Pangos Summer Sweet 16 event in Los, Angeles, CA. The championship victory was one of redemption for this group, as the…

The Arizona Magic Elite 17U club team are having some serious success as of late, after a solid spring performance.  After winning last weekend’s Summer Sizzle 17U Tournament Championship at Mesquite High School, this depleted group of 7-Magic players have continued their strong play during the first NCAA evaluation period of the summer – advancing to the tournament final for  second week in a row, but this time in the Pangos Summer Sweet 16 event in Los Angeles, CA. The Magic reached the finals on Sunday @ 3PM (Sunday), after going undefeated in the event and overcoming several slow starts to win ball games,…

The top unsigned prospect from Arizona’s loaded 2014 class was Westview High School’s 6-foot-9 prep post prospect Andre Adams.  Considered as the top available unsigned post prospect in the country by some national scouting services and media outlets across the country, Adams made his decision to attend an elite-level prep school in Florida – electing to attend a post-graduate year at IMG Academy in Florida this past season.  After spending a year at IMG Prep Academy, Adams has worked diligently enough to receive a passing test score at the program, and is now an academic qualifier, per NCAA standards – making him the top unsigned post prospect now in the country. Adams attended IMG…

It is still very early for the 2019 class in the state of Arizona, but players like 6-foot-4 rising freshman wing Josh Green is making me a quick believer in his future potential as a college prospect.  Josh Green, the younger brother of Mountain Ridge rising senior Jay Green, is the top-rated prospect in Arizona’s 2019 class and he proved it this weekend in this year’s Summer Sizzle, as he led his I-10 Celtics to tournament championships in the 15U and 16U Divisions. Green is a hire-energy and active wing prospect with nice bounce off the floor, and a knack…
