This year’s Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) Junior College Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th @ Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Each of the conference’s teams will be in action on the day, and our Arizona Preps’ staff will be there the entire day to bring you updates of top performers. Different this year, each member insititution of the ACCAC will play one scheduled game in the event (changed from 2 games in the past). Each game in the event will include a stopped clock format. Arizona’s 2019 class is again already very loaded and seems to keep getting better. Hillcrest Prep 6-foot-8 junior post JB Mukeba recently enrolled at the school. A native of Africa, Mukeba is a long and athletic post talent that has a high motor. The state of Arizona now seems to be loaded with top-rated basketball talent, as more and more prospects are moving to the state of Arizona as of late. Another gifted prospect from America’s 2019 class has now relocated to the state, as 6-foot-7, 175-pound junior wing Terry Armstrong has emerged at Bella Vista Prep. Bella Vista Prep Academy is on the rise. After recently moving to the state of Arizona, Arizona’s 2018 class of prospects has improved a great deal with the addition of 6-foot-8, 225-pound senior forward Stephan Gabriel. A native of New Jersey, Gabriel moved to the state of Arizona this high school season to play for AZ Compass Prep and their national team, and to ultimately improve his college recruitment. After playing for state champion Basha High School last season, and being part of a winning team, 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior point guard Amari Hudson has returned back to his former program Skyline Prep in South Phoenix for his senior season. Hudson saw limited playing time for Basha last season, but will now look to return to form this high school season under his former head coach Jace Romero. Shadow Mountain High School is absolutely loaded again this high school season, after winning the 4A state championship last season, and going undefeated throughout their regular season. Shadow would eventually fall to top-ranked Montverde (FL) in their final game of the season in the Dick’s Sporting Goods National Tournament – finishing with a 27-1 overall record on the season. Salpointe Catholic High School’s talented 6-foot-5 junior wing prospect Majok Deng is among the elite prospects in the West for the 2019 class. Deng has received loads of college recruitment already throughout his young career, and this weekend he decided to take an unofficial recruiting visit to one of the top basketball programs in America – Duke University. Montana State University has completed the trifecta, as their coaching staff has received verbal commitments from three different Arizona prospects this fall. The latest to give a verbal commitment to head coach Brian Fish and his staff is Liberty High School’s 6-foot-5 senior wing prospect Quentin Guliford. Guliford gave his pledge on Saturday evening to the Big Sky program. Portland State University head coach Barrett Peery and his staff are getting a steal, after receiving a verbal commitment from Anthem Prep High School’s 6-foot-9, 190-pound athletic senior post Trey Wood. The 19th Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase, Arizona’s original showcase basketball event, will take place on October 21st and will provide maximum exposure opportunities once again for each of the participants. This year’s event will be played on one main court for maximum exposure for each of the players to scouts, media and event fans.
