With (5) games remainning in conference play, Cochise and Eastern Junior College have moved into a tie for first place in the ACCAC conference for division-I schools, while Scottsdale Junior College has a narrow (2) game lead for first place in the conference, among division-II college programs. When Hillcrest Prep 6-foot-7, 180-pound junior wing prospect Keon Edwards recently gave a big, early decision to commit to DePaul University, it was a big deal as the Top 50 national prospect from America’s 2021 Class decided to end his recruitment early in the recruiting process. As seen numerous times this junior college season, the ACCAC has selected their Players of the Week, and the winners are multiple winners. Eastern Arizona’s versatile and hard-working sophomore forward Nathaniel Pollard has won the Division-I honor (5) times this season, after being selected for the honor again for his performance during the week of January 27th – Febuary 2nd.  Pollard averaged 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in Eastern Arizona wins over Chandler-Gilbert and South Mountain. Cochise’s Naje Smith Chandler-Gilbert’s Blake Williams have been selcted as the ACCAC Players of the Week for the second time this season for their performances throughout January 20th – 26th. Smith, a 6-foot-7 sophomore forward from Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane, Washington, earned his second weekly honor of the season, after averaging strong numbers in two big wins for Cochise. The ACCAC has selected Central Arizona’s Shakeil Bertrand for the ACCAC’s Division-I Player of the Week and Scottsdale’s sophomore Boogie Anderson as the ACCAC Division-II Player of the Week for the week ending of January 13-19th. Central Arizona JC 6-foot-8 freshman forward Shakeil Bertrand averaged 13.5 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting 64% from the field in CAC’s two contests for the week.
