Hillcrest Prep’s talented and physical 6-foot-10, 250-pound junior post Duke Brennan is definitely a prospect on the rise in Arizona’s 2022 Class. After receiving numerous offers over the past year, Brennan’s recruitment is heating up after strong performances already this spring. Brennan is a very rare find among low post prospects today, as he is very physical and plays as big as his size suggests – competing at a high level on both ends of the floor. He is very active on the glass and is a strong finisher around the paint – getting to the free-throw line quite often, as a…

St. Mary’s High School has been known for their basketball program in the state of Arizona for many years, as the school has had one of the most historic programs in the state – producing such high quality NBA veterans as Jerryd Bayless and Channing Frye. While the program has had an historic past, the program lost it’s luster over the years, as enrollment decreased and the program saw a shortage of serious basketball talent at the school. As a result, the school would take on a much different look from year’s past, when it produced loads of college talent. Instead, the program would…
One of the elite girl’s high school coaches in the country resides right here in the state of Arizona, as Head Coach Karen Self has built Seton Catholic High School’s girl’s basketball program into one of the top overall girl’s basketball programs in the country, over a long period of time. I had the pleasure of sitting down with legendary girl’s basketball coach Karen Self. Coach Self has been coaching for nearly 30 years, and has built Seton Catholic into one of the most respected and decorated programs the state has ever seen. Under Coach Self’s leadership, the Lady Sentinels have won (12) state championships and…

Recently, Arizona Preps made the long trip to Miami, Florida, to cover the Pangos Fantastic 40 Team Event organized by national basketball scout and club coach (Belmont Shore) Dinos Trigonis. Trigonis is regarded as the best in the business for what he does all over the country, and for the length of time he has done it. With the spring club season now upon us in many states, the Fantastic 40 event kicked off the spring club season in fine fashion, and in a nice part of the country. The opportunity to spend some quality time in Miami, Florida, and…

AZ Compass Prep (28-2) saw the end to an historic season today in the GEICO Nationals in Fort Meyers, Florida, after falling in narrow fashion to the nation’s #1 ranked team and program, Montverde Academy (FL). After a last-second missed shot attempt bounced off the rim at the buzzer for AZ Compass, Montverde would hand AZ Compass their mere second loss of the season, with both season losses coming at the hands of Montverde. While Montverde would move on to advance to the GEICO National Championship game, Compass Prep would finish among the top four high school teams in America…

Dream City Christian Prep gifted 6-foot-7 senior forward Arthur Kaluma signed a national letter gave a verbal commitment to UNLV this fall in surprising fashion, after being being recruited heavily by many high-major college programs across the country. Recently, UNLV made a coaching change, and now Kaluma is considering his options again for next fall. While he is still signed to a national letter of intent with UNLV, he could elect to do something different, if he chooses. As a result, many college coaches are waiting to see what Kaluma will decide for his future, and if he will elect for getting…
