As we continue to take a much harder and closer look into Arizona's talented 2021 Class of prospects, there are numerous performers that would have made a big splash this spring and summer, pre-COVID-19 pandemic. While the Spring NCAA Evaluation Period was cancelled, one of the elite prospects in the class that has not missed a beat has been AZ Compass Prep's 6-foot-4, 180-pound rising senior guard prospect Tyrone "Ty Ty" Washington. Even without an evaluation period to support his performances, Washington has absolutely blown up among college coaches, scouts and media.
With the COVID-19 pandemic increasing around the country and definitely within the state of Arizona, Washington decided to compete in the Pangos Best of Arizona Summer League, and while primarily local scouts and media have been in attendance for the games, the addition of BallerTV.com was worth it's weight in gold for Washington, who poured in a league-high 49 points in a recent game. Washington's performance in the league has been almost epic, as he has played at a very high level throughout the league - showcasing his superb ability to play the game and make plays.
As a result, Washington has seen his already tremendous college recruitment soar to even greater heights, as he has picked numerous offers and much more recruiting interest as a result of his terrific play. The league has been absolutely loaded with the state's top prospects from the prep school and the high school ranks, and has included some top prospects from outside of the state also. Washington has been a star among stars in the league.
Over the last week, Washington received offers from USC, Auburn and Minnesota. He also has offers from San Diego State, Virginia Tech, Creighton, Ole Miss, Saint Louis, Marquette, DePaul, Maryland, Oklahoma, Washington State, Nevada, TCU, Arizona State, Hofstra, Portland, Pacific, Loyola Marymount, Grand Canyon, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Montana, UC-Santa Barbara, Portland State, North Carolina A&T and Louisiana-Monroe.

Washington is a superb talent with excellent size as a combo-guard. He is very skilled off the dribble and can create a shot for himself, almost at will. He gets to the basket very easily and can create shots for himself or his teammates, when he decides to make things happen off the dribble - making it very difficult for opposing defenders to stop him or even slow him down. He is also a pure shooter of the basketball with amazing range on his shot. During his 49-point performance he hit a couple shots in the game from half-court.
Washington is among the state's elite overall talents, and last high school season, as a junior, he definitely proved it as he led his prep program to a big season and strong finish on the Grind Session.
I will continue to follow Washington's college recruitment closely this summer, and bring you any updates as they continue to develop.
