One of the top shooters in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) is headed to the Division-I level. Scottsdale Community College 6-foot-3, 180-pound sophomore guard Zach Anderson has signed with Sacramento State and new Head Coach Mike Bibby and his staff. This is a significant step forward in his basketball journey and a proud moment for him and his family.
Anderson had a strong sophomore season, averaging 11.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He made his mark as one of the top perimeter shooters in the conference, connecting on 39.1% of his three-point attempts and shooting 39% from the field overall. His ability to space the floor and knock down shots consistently made him a valuable weapon for Scottsdale CC throughout the season.
A graduate of Desert Mountain High School, Anderson developed his game in the local Arizona basketball scene before elevating it at the JUCO level. Despite his team’s struggles—Scottsdale Community College finished the season with a 7-11 ACCAC record and a 10-18 overall mark—Anderson stood out as a leader and a reliable offensive threat.
Now, he takes his talents to Sacramento State in the Big Sky Conference, where he’ll have the opportunity to compete at the Division-I level and continue his development under new Head Coach and Arizona basketball legend Mike Bibby. His commitment reflects the hard work and dedication he’s put into his game, and it serves as a major achievement for a player who’s consistently proven himself at every level.
Anderson’s story is a testament to persistence, and with his elite shooting ability, strong work ethic and basketball IQ, he is poised to continue to make an impact at Sacramento State.
Congratulations to Anderson and his family on this amazing accomplishment from our staff here @ Arizona Preps.
