Success leaves clues, and over the last two seasons, few junior college players in Arizona have experienced more success than Pima's 6-foot-6, 200-pound sophomore Isaac Johnson. The talented and athletic wing prospect has officially committed to Manhattan University, earning a tremendous Division-I opportunity after helping lead Pima College to one of the most successful runs in junior college basketball history. Johnson was a major contributor for a Pima program that has established itself as one of the premier junior college programs in America. Over the last two seasons, Pima compiled an incredible 70-2 overall record, won back-to-back Region I championships and finished among the nation’s elite Division-II juco programs.

This season, Johnson played a pivotal role in Pima’s historic success. The Aztecs finished the regular season undefeated at 32-0, before advancing deep into postseason play and earning a consensus national ranking among the top programs in the country. A versatile and productive performer, Johnson averaged 16.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season, while shooting an eye-popping 71.8% from the field. His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor made him one of the most valuable players in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC).

Johnson consistently delivered in big moments throughout the season. Whether scoring around the basket, rebounding in traffic, defending multiple positions, or providing leadership, he was a steady presence for a Pima team loaded with talent. His combination of length, athleticism and versatility made him a difficult matchup for opposing teams. At 6-foot-6, Johnson possesses the ability to play multiple positions and has continued to develop his overall skill-set throughout his collegiate career.

What stands out most about Johnson is his willingness to do whatever is necessary to help his team win. He plays with toughness, energy, and a team-first mentality that college coaches covet. His productivity, consistency, and effort were major factors in Pima’s dominance over the last two seasons.

The commitment to Manhattan University is a well-deserved reward for Johnson’s hard work and development. Manhattan is receiving a proven winner who understands what it takes to compete at a high level and contribute to successful basketball programs. I have enjoyed watching Isaac Johnson develop throughout his career, and believe his best basketball is still ahead of him. His versatility, toughness, and experience should allow him to make an immediate impact at the Division-I level.

After helping lead Pima College to an astounding 70-2 record over the last two seasons, Johnson now moves on to the next chapter of his basketball journey. His commitment to Manhattan University is another example of the high-level talent being produced within the ACCAC conference and at Pima College.

Look for Isaac Johnson to continue his development and have an excellent Division I career. Manhattan University is getting a tremendous addition, and Johnson has all the tools necessary to continue making a significant impact at the next level. Congratulations to Isaac Johnson and his family, as well as the Pima coaching staff on another impressive signing.

Arizona Preps Scouting Report: Isaac Johnson is a very good looking juco prospect with excellent length of body and athleticism, which allows him to make plays most cannot and quite efficiently. Johnson is among the efficient players and scorers in the country, and he shoots a very high percentage from the field, as he does not waist dribbles or movement, and simply makes plays. A strong finisher in traffic and especially in the open floor. An excellent slasher and finisher with great body control. Has a 7-foot wingspan. An good shooter from mid-range and a solid shooter from three-point distance, but still needs consistency from longer ranges, which will make him more effective offensively over time. Can score inside and out, and does not need the ball to impact the game offensively. A strong overall defender. An excellent shot-blocker. Competes hard. A winner and a great teammate. An excellent sleeper prospect.
