One of the top overall prospects in the state of Arizona, regardless of class, is Basha High School's gifted 6-foot rising senior point guard Mason Magee. After suffering an injury during the high school season, Magee is back to form and now playing at a high level, once again, on the club circuit, but this time, on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit with the heavily Adidas-sponsored and historic Compton Magic (CA) program. Magee is one of the top guard prospects in America's 2026 Class, and after a terrific high school career already for himself, Magee is preparing himself for a big summer and a tremendous senior season for the Basha HS program.

While still a much younger prospect than his grade suggests, Magee enters his final summer, while riding some of the hottest college recruitment in the country. Since the end to the 2024 club season, Magee has received numerous high -major Division-I offers and has become one of the hottest prospects in the 2026 Class in America.

Magee now currently has a long list of offers that includes West Virginia, Arizona State, Washington State, Iowa, Seton Hall, Mississippi State, Cal, UNLV, Fresno State, UC-Santa Barbara, New Mexico State, San Jose State, Marist and Northern Arizona, with many more college programs looking to still get involved. Magee will ultimately have a very big decision to make for himself. It is still unclear as to which college program is currently his leader at this point in his college recruitment.

Magee is coming off an excellent showing again this spring while playing for the Compton Magic program, alongside numerous other top-rated and elite Arizona prospects, such as Cam Williams (St. Mary's HS), Bruce Branch (Perry HS) and Rider Portela (Sunnyslope), among others with the program. Last club season, Magee competed on the Nike EYBL 16U circuit, while playing for the Vegas Elite (NV) club program, before deciding to finish his club career with the Compton Magic on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit this season. Magee has positioned himself nicely among the top overall prospects in the West for the 2026 Class, and college programs are showing a high level of interest in the very talented guard prospect.

Magee is an absolute stud for his young age, and he has had an excellent high school career thus far. While almost a pure point guard prospect, Magee is a big-time talent that can get buckets, while also making players around him better. He can score and facilitate, which makes him difficult to defend for opposing guards. Magee has had a tremendous high school career for himself, and he was the catalyst for a very talented Basha team this past season, as he showed poise and a very competitive drive that helped his Basha team build a 20-8 overall record against Arizona opponents last high school season. Magee is set to have a huge senior season next year, and finish off one of the best high school careers ever in the state of Arizona.

I will continue to follow the recruitment of Magee closely this summer, and bring you more updates as they continue to develop. Magee is one of the top-rated 2026 prospects in the country, and his continued strong performance this summer with Basha and the Compton Magic should only continue to propel him to a much higher national ranking over the next year.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Magee is a scoring point guard with tremendous athleticism and explosiveness off the dribble. He enjoys having the basketball in his hands, so he can make a play almost at will, for himself or a teammate. He enjoys setting up his teammates for scoring opportunities, but is an excellent scorer that is an excellent creator off the dribble and makes plays at a high level. An excellent finisher. Magee does not mind the physical contact, even for such a young performer. He gets into the lane quite easily and has a really strong mid-range game for a guard prospect. He has a good shooting stroke and makes shots from the stand-still position, while on the move, or while being defended or challenged on his shot. He is a strong defender also that plays passing lanes quite well, with very quick hands and feet. A lock-down defender over time, which is a very nice attribute for him. Also a very good rebounder for his size that competes hard and at a high level. Magee simply loves the game and it is his passion, and it shows in his consistent top performances. Magee also has extreme work ethic, which is his best overall attribute. His work ethic will be what maximizes his true potential as a player and as a prospect.
