Rancho Solano Prep 6-foot-9, 205-pound junior post Hunter Ruck is also coming off a strong spring and summer performance for himself, while anchoring the middle for a loaded Powerhouse Hoops 16U team that competed at a high level throughout the club season. Ruck performed very well for himself in the process and, as a result, he was the recipient of several division-I offers.
Ruck is a superb young talent with nice size and a mobile ability to run the floor, where he is a strong finisher. Also a strong finisher at the rim, Ruck is a strong low post prospect with a mature body and excellent potential for the future. He has a very bright future ahead of him and the potential to become a serious division-I prospect over time with continued hard work.
This summer, Ruck, like several of his club teammates, received scholarship offers from several schools, as Northern Arizona, Idaho State and Houston Baptist each jumped on board early in the recruiting process for Ruck - a smart decision by each of these programs, as Ruck has excellent potential for the future. This is just the beginning in the recruiting process for Ruck, so expect many more college programs to be in the hunt for Hunter.
Ruck will join forces again this high school season with club teammate Kiimani Holt to make 2A defending State Champion Rancho Solano Prep one of the top overall teams in the state - regardless of class. Look for Ruck and Holt to lead Rancho back to another state title, and improve their overall recruiting stock in preparation for next year's evaluation period.
I will continue to follow the college recruitment of Hunter Ruck closely, as he continues to develop as a college prospect and blossoms into a nice recruiting target for division-I programs.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Ruck is a nice looking post prospect with nice size and a strong ability to run the floor. He is an excellent finisher in the open floor, and a strong finisher at the rim. A back-to-the basket post player that has a very good jump hook and a solid shooting stroke out to 15 - 18 feet. A good shooter from mid-range with a soft touch as well. A good low post player with good footwork and an ability to pass very well out of the post to the open man or cutter. An active rebounder and a capable shotblocker. A good low post defender. Has a very bright future ahead of him and the potential to become a very serious division-I prospect over time with continued hard work.
