Hillcrest Prep has been widely known nationally for producing some of the best basketball talent in America annually. As the catalyst for creating the amazing prep school movement and revolution in Arizona, the program continues to reach new heights annually. After making major national noise last season with the mid-season addition of Makur Maker (Howard University), the program landed a brand partnership with rap superstar Meek Mill before this season, and now has added some serious talent to this year's team, as the program prepares themselves for another national championship run.
With superstar senior forward Mike Foster absolutely killing his competition this season - averaging 32 points, 18.9 rebounds and 7.1 blocks per/game, Hillcrest has now added Mouhamadou Cisse, a huge 7-foot junior who played basketball in France, before moving to the Arizona-based program. Cisse is a huge post talent that is an excellent rebounder and shotblocker, and will allow for Foster to play more on the perimeter and have more versatility for the program. Cisse will instantly become one of the more sought after junior targets in America's 2022 Class.
Recently, Hillcrest Prep also added the services of 6-foot-10 junior post Duke Brennan, who transferred twice this season from AZ Compass Prep and also Eduprize. Brennan's toughness and rugged approach to the game has benefited Foster and the Hillcrest program quickly. Brennan currently possesses numerous offers for himself, from such schools as GCU, UC-Irvine, UMASS, Rice and others. Hillcrest also recently added 6-foot-8 senior post Bradley Ezewiro (LSU commit) to their roster as well - an imposing post player with excellent size and strength, and a strong ability to finish around the rim. Ezewiro has already given a commitment to LSU.
To help with their guard play, Hillcrest Prep also previously added the services of 6-foot junior guard Dasean Lecque to their roster, as the terrific junior guard prospect recently decided to transfer from Desert Vista High School - landing at Hillcrest Prep. Lecque already possesses an offer from Arizona State and Boston College to go with several other offers.
Hillcrest Prep also had tremendous success this fall, as ultra-athletic and long/rangy 6-foot-7 senior guard Jamiya Neal (Arizona State signee) absolutely blew up after several strong performances, and earned himself a PAC-12 offer from Head Coach Bob Hurley and the Sun Devils - an offer he would accept, signing with Arizona State during the NCAA early signing period. Neal has flourished since signing an NLOI, and is a major bright spot for the program.
Seton Hall signee, 6-foot-6 senior guard Brandon Weston has also been a major bright spot for the program this season, as the very explosive and athletic guard prospect has flourished. Weston received a Top 100 ranking by ESPN, and had a terrific overall performance in the recent Pangos All-American Festival in Arizona, against many of the nation's elite prospects.
Overall, the Hillcrest Prep program is absolutely loaded with Division-I talent and is now primed and ready to continue their terrific season that they have had. This team will be absolutely fun to watch, and is another fine example of what Arizona basketball has become.
