With the beginning of the Arizona Community College Athletic Association (ACCAC) junior college season now fully in action, Nathaniel Pollard of Eastern Arizona, and Xavier Fuller of Scottsdale JC, are the first two ACCACC Men's Basketball Players of the Week in Division-I and D-II respectively.
Pollard averaged 16.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, as EAC won its first (5) contests of the season.
Xavier Fuller had a huge week with a 26.5 scoring average, as Scottsdale JC won their first (2) games of the year. Fuller also averaged an impressive 11 rebounds and had 4 assists and 2.5 steals per/game. Fuller also shot 58% from the field and converted 6 of 10 three-pointers in the two wins.
ACCAC Notes: As conference play begins Wednesday, (5) different ACCAC men's basketball teams have had just one loss, or less. Two remain unbeaten. Eastern Arizona has won its first (7) games, including two wins last week. Eastern Arizona defeated Little Priest Tribal College, 114-65, and also the Mesa-Benedictine JV, 107-62.
Scottsdale JC (4-0) had two wins last week, defeating the Arizona Christina JV, 92-68, and the Taylormade Post Grads, 109-49.
Cochise has a 5-1 record. The Apaches won a big game over Howard JC (TX), 76-74, and a talented Lee College (TX) group, 90-76, in a tournament this past weekend at Pima Junior College.
Central Arizona and Chandler-Gilbert are both 3-1. CAC defeated the Park JV, 100-66, last week, while CGCC also knocked off the Mesa-Benedictine JV, 84-62.
