Arizona's 2015 class of girl prospects is loaded with talent.

One of the top prospects in the class is Desert Vista High School's 6-foot-3, 150-pound freshman post Kristine Anigwe. A promising talent, Anigwe has played major minutes this season in helping the Thunder to an impressive start to the season.

Desert Vista (18-3) recently lost to Centennial HS (CA) in the Grey Division championship game of this year's Nike Tournament of Champions, after turning in a very strong performance in the event. Since the loss, the Thunder has rolled - winning their last 8 games in a row and in blowout fashion.

Kristine Anigwe has been a major part of the team's success this season in only her freshman season for the Thunder. Playing alongside 6-foot-2 senior post Tinisha Toussaint (Weber State signee), Anigwe has provided excellent interior depth, rebounding and shotblocking for her team.

Anigwe is averaging 4.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1 block per/outing for the Thunder this season - very good numbers for her freshman season.

Anigwe has excellent size already as a post player and is still growing a great deal. Standing 6-3 in heigth, she is a true post player. She is very active and rebounds outside of her area. She also runs the floor very well and is a solid finisher inside the paint.

Anigwe will continue to develop over time offensively, but she works very hard on her game and has some solid post moves already. As she develops as a low post scorer, she will see her potential improve a great deal. Already, Anigwe has a solid jump hook and is capable of facing the basket from mid-range and shooting the basketball with a soft touch.

Anigwe's best asset now is her willingness to compete and her activity around the paint. As she continues to mature physically, her aggressive style of play will suit her nicely over time.

Anigwe is a promising young talent in a talented 2015 class in Arizona. Look for this young lady to develop nicely throughout her high school career and become one of the more sought after recruiting targets in the country over time, as she has the potential to become a big-time talent.

Look for Anigwe to continue to develop and keep Desert Vista amongst the top teams in the state's Division-I standings.

Anigwe plays her club basketball for the Arizona Elite.

Desert Vista will have their work cut out in their next two games, as they will travel this week to Mesa Mountain View on Thursday (1/19) and then to Chandler HS on Friday (1/20).
