He is back off the recruiting board, and almost as fast as he went back on. Gilbert Christian High School’s 6-foot-4, 180-pound senior guard Cameron Satterwhite decided to re-open his college recruitment recently, after de-committing from the University of Colorado. This weekend, Satterwhite decided to pull the trigger with a college program from the very competitive Missouri Valley Conference.
Satterwhite has decided to sign a national letter of intent this fall with Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Satterwhite will sign a national letter of intent this fall with head coach Porter Moser and his staff. The Ramblers joined the Missouri Valley Conference in 2013, ending a 34-season tenure as charter members of the Horizon League.
One of the elite boy’s basketball prospects in Arizona’s 2016 class, Satterwhite is one of the most athletic prospects in the West. Satterwhite came into his own last high school season - enough that he would earn a scholarship offer from the University of Colorado. Satterwhite would give an early commitment to Colorado and head coach Tad Boyle and his staff, ending his college recruitment.
Satterwhite would play through the club season last spring and summer, before suffering a serious injury to his knee late July in Las Vegas. The injury will cause Satterwhite to miss his senior season. Recently, Satterwhite and the University of Colorado would decide to part ways - allowing Satterwhite to re-open his college recruitment and go back on the recruiting board.
Satterwhite previously selected Colorado over offers from Northern Arizona, Rice, Portland, Portland State and Weber State. He was also receiving strong interest from such schools as Arizona, Gonzaga and Oregon to name a few, before making his commitment and suffering the injury.
Satterwhite is currently among our top rated overall prospects in Arizona's 2016 class, and like fellow 2016 classmates Klay Stall (Utah State commit) and Devin Kirby (Montana State commit), both of Basha HS and both of whom suffered serious injuries, Satterwhite will now look to rehab throughout his senior season in preparation for college. Kirby has returned to action and will play this senior season - looking to regain his form from a year ago.
Satterwhite will join former Basha HS graduate Maurice Kirby at the program during the fall of 2016. Kirby will be a sophomore for the program this season.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Satterwhite is very long and athletic and has a very good feel for the game. The game comes very natural to him as a player, and he is also a natural athlete that thrives in the open floor and flys through the air with grace. He is able to make plays that most players cannot, as a result of his athleticism and ability to play above the rim. Still needs work on the consistency on his jump shot from longer ranges. He is an excellent finisher above the rim and is capable of finish plays over bigger defenders. An excellent slasher and finisher, Satterwhite plays much bigger than his size suggests – utilizing his length and wingspan to make plays, with or without the basketball. This young man has the potential to become an excellent defender, as he has excellent lateral quickness and on-the-court anticipation – allowing him to play passing lanes and get in the open floor for steals and transition baskets. He is capable of becoming a lock-down defender, but still needs to focus on locking up opposing ballhandlers off the dribble to reach his maximum potential as a player. Suffered a serious knee injury this summer (2015), so he will need to rehabilitate himself before moving on to the collegiate level. A nice looking prospect with major upside as a player.
