This weekend I ran the Southwest All-American Camp at the Kroc Center in Phoenix. Anthony Ray (Arizona Preps) and I put together this event strictly for exposure purposes. We had almost 110 players attend the camp with 7 college coaches on hand plus some of the top West Coast scouts. We had Gerry Frietas (Hoopreview.net), Roy White (West Coast Hoops), Josh Gershon (National recruiting analyst for Scout.com) and Chris Karpman (Sun Devils Source/Scout.com) on hand. Those four communicate weekly to over 200 college coaches which should bring some more exposure to the players. Here is a rundown of the top…

Over the the past couple of months, I attended several high school basketball games. As a result, I came across a variety of different talented prospects with good potential for the college level. Here are (3) different kids that I have come across and my evaluations of each player . . . One of the kids that I came across was 6-foot-1 sophomore guard Josh Baker at McClintock High school in Tempe, Arizona. The game I watched featured McClintock vs Williams Field High School. In the game, Josh Baker showcased his ability of being poised and being very selective in…

On Saturday, the Pima Aztecs hosted the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes in a big ACCAC Conference game on the campus of Pima Community College. While both teams fought hard throughout the entire game, it was Pima in the end that came away with the 98- 87 win. It was the match-up of the year on paper, as two of the state’stop contenders for the 6A Division faced off on Tuesday evening in front of a large crowd at Desert Vista High School. With Corona Del Sol sporting two of the elite talents in the state, and Desert Vista sporting one of the state’s elite teams, loaded with talent, the game had the potential, on paper, to be the game of the year. Desert Vista’s 6-foot junior guard Duane Miller has been playing excellent basketball as of late. The son of former NBA guard Andre Miller, this young…

This week I attended a junior college contest between the Phoenix College and Tohono O’ Odham men’s basketball programs – on the campus of Phoenix College. Since the 2016-2017 Arizona high school basketball season has now kicked off, I would like to highlight some of the best players in the state not everyone may know about. After attending the Aspire Prep Fall Classic recently, a couple of new faces really stood out to me. One of those faces was that of Chicago native, 5-foot-10, 160-pound PG Milton Wordlow III. A tough, gritty type of player that you can get behind, Wordlow has very similar scoring tendencies to that of NBA guard Shabazz Napier. He was able to get shots off on any defender that was in…
