In a previous meeting this season, Chandler (23-6) blew out top-ranked Mesa Mountain View on the Toros’ home floor. It was the fifth time these two teams met this season. After losing three of the four times previously to Highland HS (29-5), the Dobson girls would put it all together Monday evening to defeat the Hawks 53-36 – never trailing in the game. Two of the state’s best teams in the state met Saturday evening in the Division-I state playoffs as Cesar Chavez (25-5) and Buena High School (24-6) faced off. The game featured two teams with similar fast-breaking styles and good athleticism. Saturday evening led to some exciting action around the state in the Division-I state playoffs. Led by another big upset playoff victory by Perry, and a surprising blowout win by Desert Vista, it was a very interesting evening.
