Day 3 of this year’s Double Pump Best of Summer basketball tournament in Anaheim, CA was filled with much better basketball action, as this year’s event has began to wind down with tournament playoff play beginning in the afternoon. This year’s very large Double Pump Best of Summer NCAA Certified basketball tournament being held in Anaheim, CA, has not disappointed this year, as the event has been very large. With 32 different courts going at the same time at the American Sports Complex, this year’s event looks colossal in scope and has created an atmosphere for big-time basketball. The last few months have been a whirlwind for Westwind Prep’s 6-foot-8 junior forward Zylan Cheatham. Since the end to the season for Westwind’s National High School team, Cheatham has seen his college recruitment and exposure begin to soar. While our Arizona Preps’ staff spent last week in Philadelphia at the Reebok Breakout Camp, there was also a lot of basketball being played in Southern California at the Double Pump Tip-Off Classic, the Fullcourt Press All-West Showcase and also the Pangos Sweet 16 tournaments. It was reported last week by Chris Karpman of ASUDevils.com that Corona Del Sol High School’s 6-foot-6, 190-pound junior wing prospect Dane Kuiper was nearing a college decision. Karpman was right on target, as the ultra-talented incoming transfer from Alaska has made his college decision with a program in the Mountain West Conference.
