Aspire Prep Academy had a lot of success in their first year, and also did a very good job of bringing in top talent for the program.  6-foot-8, 221-pound senior forward Rodrigue Hughes Tha Andela is a superb athletic talent with an excellent physical frame.  Recently, Andela decided on a junior college program for his future.

After going through his options for college, Andela decided on Bismarck Junior College (ND), a community college located in Bismarck, North Dakota

Hugues Tha Andela came to Aspire and also to the United States in September from his home country of Cameroon, West Africa.  He started 29 games for Aspire's national high school team this season, and averaged 11.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per/game.

Andela recently played in this year's Arizona Preps Spring Classic and was among the top indiviudal performers in this year's event.

This young man is an excellent juco prospect for the future, and has the size and frame to play at the highest level of college.  He will just need to continue to work hard offensively to round out his game.  A nice sleeper prospect for any college program.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report:  Andela is a very well built physical talent with extreme size and physical strength.  He has excellent athleticism and a very good motor on both ends of the floor.  He is at his best as a defender, where he is a lock-down defender and an excllent shotblocker that contests shot from anywhere on the floor.  He still needs a lot of work on the offensive end of the floor, and is not much of a scoring threat with the basketball, although he is an excellent finisher around the basket and dunks the basketball with authority.  Runs the floor hard.  Good finisher in the open court.  Capable of playing as a 4 or a 5 on the court, as a result of his size, strength and athleticism.  A good sleeper prospect that has a bright future.
