ACCAC Basketball Players of the Week – 1/8

The 2018-2019 junior college basketball season is now in full swing and has taken shape.  

First-year Head CoachDuane Eason and his Phoenix College team have taken over first place overall in the conference, and are the top Division-II team in the ACCAC - standing alone in first place overall in the conference.  Chandler-Gilbert and Pima JC are tied for second place among Division-II schools with a 4-2 conference record.

Arizona Western and Cochise JC are currently tied for first place among Division-I programs in the conference.  Here are this week's Players of the Week in the ACCAC for the week of 1/8 . . .

ACCAC D-I Player of the Week:  J.C. Canahuate - FR  Guard - Central Arizona College
Canahuate averaged 14.5 points and 5 assists, while shooting 50% from the field, and was 7-for-13 from 3-point range - helping Central Arizona JC go 1-1 last week in games.
ACCAC D-II Player of the Week: Ilisia Washington - SOPH  Guard - Chandler-Gilbert Community College
Washington (pictured) averaged a terrific 26 points and 5 rebounds, while shooting 64.3% from the field, and was 7-for-8 from 3-point range - helping Chandler-Gilbert go 1-0 this past week in games and (12-3, 6-1) overall this season.
