As the season wraps up, many talented seniors in Arizona remain unsigned, presenting a unique opportunity for college programs. Among them, Mesa Mountain View High School's 6-foot-3 senior guard Jackson Woolley stands out as one of the best available guard prospects.
Woolley played a crucial role in leading Mesa Mountain View to a 16-12 overall record in the competitive 6A Division this season. The team’s journey ended in the state playoffs with a tough loss to Liberty High School, 71-54, but Woolley’s contributions were undeniable.
A skilled combo-guard, Woolley can effectively play both guard positions, demonstrating good tenacity and aggressiveness on the court. He’s known for his excellent shooting range and his ability to handle the ball from the point guard position when needed. However, his true strength lies in his scoring and shooting, making him a versatile offensive threat, and an excellent combo-guard prospect.
Defensively, Woolley is tough, competes hard, and has a winning mentality. Having evaluated Woolley over the last couple of years, I’ve been consistently impressed with his ability to play the game. He would make a strong college guard prospect, offering great potential for junior colleges and smaller college programs.
While it’s uncertain whether Woolley will pursue a Mormon mission after high school or jump straight into collegiate basketball, one thing is clear: he has a bright future and significant upside as a player. His best years are definitely ahead of him, and he’s a prospect worth watching.
I will continue to follow his college recruitment closely, as well as his decision for college, and bring you any updates as they continue to develop for him.
