With so many Arizona high school prospects still available this spring, as each of the top prospects look to make their college decisions, there are many top-rated prospects for college programs to take a hard look at. One of the elite high school prospects for Division-I programs to consider is St. Mary's High School's gifted and athletic 6-foot-7, 210-pound senior Caspian Jones. Jones is a very well under-recruited prospect that college programs need to take a very hard look at this spring.

Caspian Jones proved this season that he belongs in the conversation among the top available basketball prospects in the West. Leading his team to this year's 4A State Championship, Jones was the inspirational force behind a team that overcame major obstacles to bring home the title. Jones teamed up with 6-foot-11 junior standout Cam Williams to form one of the most dominant frontcourt duos in the state. Together, they anchored St. Mary’s through a challenging season filled with ups and downs, and when the lights were brightest, it was Jones who consistently delivered. His performances during the state playoffs were clutch, making key plays on both ends of the floor and inspiring his team with his energy and leadership.

Named the Desert Sky Region Player of the Year, Jones put together a standout senior campaign, showcasing his ability to lead, score, and defend at a high level. A strong and athletic wing prospect with excellent size, Jones brings a rare blend of versatility and grit. He can play inside or out, defend multiple positions, and is a relentless competitor.

This past summer, Jones raised his stock nationally with a strong showing at the Pangos All-American Camp, where he competed alongside some of the top 100 players in the country. That performance turned heads and drew attention from numerous scouts and media. Jones was first selected as the Pangos All-American Festival Co-MVP last spring - earning an invitation to the 2024 Pangos All-American Camp. In the Pangos All-American Camp, Jones ranked among the Top 20 statistical producers in the camp, and was one of only (5) different campers in the event to rank in the Top 20 in points and rebounds, but he remains one of the top unsigned seniors in the West.

Despite a strong season and growing interest from colleges, Jones is still looking for the right Division-I opportunity this spring. With his size, skill-set, and ability to impact both ends of the court, he’s a prospect college programs should not overlook. He has all the tools to succeed at the next level and continues to prove he’s worthy of a Division-I scholarship offer.

I will continue to follow his recruitment closely, and bring you updates as they continue to develop.

Arizona Preps Scouting Report:  Jones is a nice overall talent that is just beginning to reach his potential as a player, coming into his own as a player and prospect. He is a versatile combo-forward prospect that is capable of playing inside and out, and is a wing prospect with the ability to consistently make plays for himself and others off the dribble. He enjoys having the ball in his hands and creating off the dribble, while being able to make shots from the perimeter. He has really improved the consistency on his jump shot from longer ranges. He has a very good handle of the basketball that he has developed through hard work, and is much more effective as a playmaker, which he has proven that he can be. He is an active rebounder and finisher around the basket, and also runs the floor very well and looks to get easy buckets in transition. He is a very good and willing passer that sees the floor, and competes hard. He has excellent toughness, and should blossom nicely over time with continued work ethic and hard work on his craft.
