One of the better prospects in Arizona's 2026 Class is developing nicely and on the rise. Mesa High School's 6-foot-7 junior forward London Haskell is a much lesser known name among the state's top prospects, but he is a nice talent that will look to have a breakout season for Mesa High School. Now an upperclassman, Haskell has grown physically and now will team up with one of the hottest prospects in America, 6-foot-3 incoming freshman stud Kyi Kyi Miles. The attention on the Mesa program this high school season, gained through the addition of having Miles in a Mesa uniform, will now put major focus and attention on the play of Haskell. Haskell should benefit a great deal from the added exposure to college coaches, scouts and media in preparation for a big junior season for him.
Haskell has been one to watch among Arizona's top 2026 prospects for a year now, as he has developed as a player and prospect, but nothing could or can prepare him for what is coming this high school season, as he will now become a major focus with a Mesa team that will be well watched all high school season. As more and more basketball enthusiasts, scouts, media and college coaches venture to watch the Mesa team and see Miles in action, they will ultimately see Haskell as well. This will be a very nice benefit for Haskell, who has worked hard to develop under the strong leadership of Head Coach Scott Stansberry and his hard-working coaching staff.
Haskell is a bigger post player with excellent length of arms on a lengthy frame. He is still growing a great deal but is now starting to become much more comfortable in his skin, and is just starting to turn the corner in his play and production, as a result. Haskell is a strong offensive rebounder and is becoming a better finisher around the basket, his best offensive attribute. He has a good jump hook and uses a variety of shots around the basket to score. Haskell is left-handed and is a little unorthodox offensively, but it will benefit him over time as he matures physically and becomes much more assertive offensively. Currently he is a strong rebounder and shot-blocker for the Mesa team, so he will see much of his playing time as a true post player for Mesa. Over time, he will need to become much more of a stretch-4 man, with an ability to make shots from the perimeter to maximize his potential as a player. This will come over time. For the next two high school seasons, he will see most of his production from put-backs, low post moves and finishes from running the floor hard.
Haskell is coming off a good spring and summer for himself, and he already was looking to have a breakout season for himself and the Mesa basketball program. Now with the addition of superstar guard Miles to the roster, Haskell will be relied on heavily to anchor the Mesa lineup and provide serious offensive and defensive support for Miles and his teammates.
Currently, Haskell is still an almost unknown prospect to most college programs, but that will soon change for him this high school season, as his junior season will now shape his future college recruitment. Haskell will definitely open up some eyes this high school season, and become a factor among the 2026 Class of prospects. It is just a matter of time, as I expect to see Haskell become a nice recruiting target for the right college fit, but after continued hard work on his body and craft. He has the potential and size to become a very good college prospect over the next year. I expect big things from him this high school season.
I look forward to following Haskell and the Mesa program this high school season, and bringing you any updates regarding Haskell and the team this high school season.
