In big news today, one of the elite prospects in Arizona's 2024 Class is now officially off the recruiting board, after Dream City Christian Prep's hard-working and developing 7-foot, 215-pound senior post Emmanuel Stephen has decided to end his college recruitment - giving a nice verbal pledge to the University of Arizona Wildcats. Stephen has worked very hard to become the player he has become today, and, after a big spring and summer for himself, he has now given the biggest commitment of his life to Head Coach Tommy Lloyd and his coaching staff.
Stephen recently trimmed his recruiting list down to (5) different programs - narrowing his list of college programs down to Arizona, USC, Miami, Michigan and Kansas, before making his college decision for the Wildcats. He recently visited the University of Arizona on September 28th - an official visit that brought home the big decision from Stephen.
Stephen saw his college recruitment really take off this spring and summer, while traveling for his club program, Paul George Elite (CA) on the Nike EYBL circuit. He played himself into much higher college recruitment throughout the spring and summer, and put a staple on it after a strong performance in the Pangos All-American Camp in June.
Stephen has a very bright future ahead and is set to have a big senior year for Head Coach Kyle Weaver and his staff @ Dream City Christian Prep. Congratulations to Stephen and his family, as well as the Dream City Christian Prep program on another big commitment. Stephen will sign a national letter of intent with the Wildcats in November.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Prospects like Stephen are difficult to find and rare, as he has excellent size and length of body on a thin, athletic frame, which looks like he can and will add some serious physical size in the future. He runs the floor very hard and well for his size, and is a strong finisher in the open court. He plays high above the rim on finishes and rebounds, and is also a very good shot-blocker that blocks and changes shots consistently. Stephen has tremendous upside for the future as well, as he is developing his touch around the basket and has developed a nice jump hook. He also has very much improved footwork. He is working hard to develop his low post moves, but has excellent work ethic, combined with an amazing personality and attitude. The future is very bright for Stephen. Stephen is on the rise in the West, and also nationally among the nation's best in the 2024 Class.
