On Saturday, January 9, 2016, the #4 high school team in the country, Findlay Prep from Las Vegas, Nevada, made a return trip to Arizona to meet up with one of the better high school programs in the state of Arizona – Pinnacle High School.  The game was held on the campus of Arizona Christian University and many local, as well as out of town fans, packed out the gym from start to finish in anticipation of the match-up. The SWS Discovery Camp will be held on January 23rd, 2016 at Boggle Middle School in Chandler Arizona.  This event is for 5th – 8th grade boys of all skill levels.  We will accept 80 players for this event. This camp is not for top players or elite players only. THIS EVENT IS NOT A PLAYER RANKING EVENT.  The camp is ideal for players who have not participated in a camp/showcase before. Day two of the annual Visit Mesa.com Basketball Challenge took place at Mesa Mountain View High School.  Many of the top in-state, as well as out of state teams from California, Washington, Utah, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Illinois are competing in this years’ event.  Every game was very intense, and many of them where decided within the last few minutes.  This is always one of the premier holiday events in Arizona. The 2015-2016 junior college season is set to get underway in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) later this month, with each of the conference’s programs beginning their regular seasons after a brief schedule of scrimmages. On October 24th, 2015, the 17th Annual Arizona Preps.com Fall Showcase took place at Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona.  This years’ event was very special due to the fact the Mitch Lightfoot, the consensus # 1 player in Arizona’s 2016 class, made his college selection, in which he chose the Kansas Jayhawks and head coach Bill Self.  We hope Mitch has set a trend among the elite players in the state to make their college announcements at our annual Arizona Preps.com Fall Showcase in the future. ArizonaVarsity attended the 17th Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase this weekend at Glendale CC in Phoenix (Ariz.). The event featured eight teams for a total of 80 players with a dunk contest in the middle of the event, and a Mitch Lightfoot announcement to Kansas University to top it off. The final four slam dunk contestants were Seth Mason, Gresyn Rogers, Bryce Cheney and Brandon Whittaker – with Rogers winning the contest.
