Chaparral High School’s talented and skilled guard prospect, 6-foot junior guard Colton Kresl is among the most talented performers in the state – regardless of class. A big-time scorer of the basketball, Kresl is coming off a strong showing this summer, and has continued his terrific play during his junior season. Kresl has been a major bright spot this high school season for a Chaparral team that has struggled this season in the win/loss column. Chaparral (5-8) has played tough this season against some strong competition, and as a result, their overall record on the season has taken a major…

While our Arizona Preps’ staff did not make the first day of events at this year’s 2015 McClintock Holiday Shootout, we more than made up for it on the second day of the event, as we took in every game on the day – (8) total games. The day was filled with some very good performances and, as always, some exciting games for the fans in attendance. The game of the day was turned in by Apollo High School, as they defeated a very well coached Boulder Creek team in amazing fashion – winning the game 64-42. The game was…
Another member of Arizona’s 2016 class is off the recruiting board, after Pinnacle High School’s skilled 6-foot-9 senior post Nick Mains gave verbal commitment recently to Air Force, a member of the Mountain West Conference. Mains had given the commitment more than a week ago, but decided to announce the decision this weekend. Mains will compete at the program’s Prep Academy for a year, before moving on to the University and competing for the mid-major plus division-I program. Mains chose Air Force over another scholarship offer from Arizona Christian University. Mains was also receiving interest from Seattle, Southern Utah, Idaho…

Casa Grande High School is off to a very good start on the season. Under the new leadership of successful head coach Gino Crump, the Cougars are off to a 7-2 start on the high school season. With several big wins and several strong performances against good opponents this season, Casa Grande is a program to watch this season. 6-foot-3, 200-pound senior guard Jose Olivarez is one of the better unknown prospects in the state’s senior class, and is soaring well below the recruiting radar this high school season. Olivarez is a tough, hard-nosed young man with a nice overall…

The exciting Hoophall West event got underway on Friday at Chaparral High School with several games on the day.
