Now that we have completed both of our events for this year's 24th Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase, for boys and girls teams in the state, we will now select this year's Showcase Most Valuable Players for both events. While both events are team events and showcase some of the best teams in the state, we like to and have always selected a Most Valuable Player award at the completion of each event.
This year's Most Valuable Player selection for the Arizona Preps Girls Fall Showcase is Desert Vista High School's gifted freshman rising superstar prospect Jerzy Robinson. Desert Vista High School will be on completely another level this high school season with the addition of Robinson, and they proved it in this year's event, as they dominated their competition. Arizona Preps girl's scout George Courtney (GC3 Hoops) called Desert Vista High School "Desert Vista University" during the event, as a result of their tremendous talent and performance throughout the event. While the team is terrific and is our clear favorite to win a 6A State Championship this high school season, Jerzy Robinson was an absolute force in this year's Fall Showcase event - showing her physicality, athleticism and advanced skillset to play the game. Robinson is an absolute star and is different from any other girl's prospect I have seen in the state, since Nicole Powell played at Mountain Pointe High School many years ago.
Robinson will become an absolute national star in the sport over time, and while national rankings have not been done yet for her class by ESPN, she is projected to be the top or one of the very best ranked prospects in America very soon, once the new rankings are released. She already holds that distinction by many other national scouting services currently.
For her performance in this year's event, we have selected Jerzy Robinson as our 2022 Arizona Preps Girls Fall Showcase Most Valuable Player. Congratulations to her and her teammates, and good luck this high school season from our Arizona Preps' staff.
