Millennium High School’s Adan Diggs has established himself as one of the elite basketball prospects in America, and his college recruitment is now beginning to take center stage nationally. The 6-foot-5 senior guard and five-star prospect made one of the biggest moves of the recruiting cycle when he officially reclassified from the 2028 class into the 2027 class this spring. Before reclassifying, Diggs had risen all the way to the No. 1 overall prospect nationally in the 2028 class. His move into 2027 immediately strengthened an already loaded national class, while positioning Diggs among the top-five overall prospects in America in his new class.
Now his recruitment is beginning to heat up. Diggs has narrowed his recruitment to an impressive group of seven schools: North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, Arkansas, Arizona and USC. That is about as impressive a list as you will find for any prospect in the country, and it speaks volumes about how highly college coaches regard Diggs and his long-term potential.
Diggs has already taken an official visit to the University of Arizona (September 25–27), where he attended the Wildcats’ annual Red-Blue Showcase. His recruitment will continue moving quickly this month. Diggs currently has an official visit scheduled to Arkansas on October 10th, followed by a visit to Kentucky on October 22nd.
Arizona is widely considered a major factor in Diggs’ recruitment, and I am hearing from circles close to Adan that the opportunity to remain close to home could be very difficult for him and his family to pass up. Still, Diggs has not publicly announced a leader, and with programs such as North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, Arkansas and USC still involved, there is plenty to play out before he ultimately makes his decision.
Diggs is coming off a fantastic spring and summer, in which he became as hot a prospect as there was anywhere in the country. He has long possessed elite scoring ability, but what has impressed me most has been the continued evolution of his overall game. Diggs can create his own offense off the dribble, excel in transition, finish through contact and make perimeter shots at a high level. At 6-foot-5, he has excellent size at the guard position and the versatility to impact the game in numerous ways. His confidence, competitive drive and ability to impact winning separate him from many players nationally. As his overall game has continued to mature, so has his reputation among college coaches.
Diggs has developed into the type of prospect capable of changing the direction of a college program. That is why his recruitment has the attention of the national basketball community.
With seven major programs remaining and several important visits taking place this fall, Diggs’ recruitment should be one of the most interesting storylines to follow in the 2027 class.
Where he ultimately lands remains to be seen, but there is little question that whichever program earns his commitment will be adding one of the premier talents in America.
I will continue to follow Adan Diggs’ recruitment closely and bring you recruiting updates as they continue to develop.
Arizona Preps Scouting Report: Adan Diggs is highly regarded among the nation's top scouting services as one of the elite 2028 prospects in the land. Diggs has dominated his competition for years now, regardless of the level he has played against, and is now a household name among national basketball enthusiasts, scouts, media and college coaches. Diggs is an ultra-athletic prospect with an advanced feel for the game and NBA athleticism. He has been regarded nationally among the elite national prospects for some time now. A highlight reel dunker, similar to NBA star Jalen Green (NBA-Rockets). He has a high skill level that allows him to score the basketball at a high rate. He has a nice shooting stroke with range from the perimeter, and also has developed a very good mid-range game for himself as well. He is very difficult to defend for opposing defenders, as he plays with a love for the game and also plays with excellent energy and a motor, that allows him to make plays at a high rate on the court. A very confident performer that expects the best from himself and his teammates, and has no fear on the court. A potential future NBA Lottery pick.
