ACCAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week: 2/13

The junior college season is winding down in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC), as Phoenix College (21-6, 17-2) continues to hold on to a narrow lead for first place in the conference.  Pima JC (24-3, 16-3) is in excellent position late in the season, currently in second place and playing their best basketball of the season.  Both teams are setting up for another face-off for the Division-II title.

Arizona Western and Cochise JC are currently in 3rd and 4th place in the conference - fighting for the Division-I conference title.

Here are the Players of the Week in the ACCAC, as selected by the league . . .

ACCAC D-I Player of the Week: Dajuan Beard - Sophomore - Arizona Western College

Beard averaged 22.5 points and 7.5 assists while shooting 69.2% from the field in two conference games - going 2-0 this past week to move Arizona Western to 17-8 on the season and 12-5 in the ACCAC.
ACCAC D-II Player of the Week: Maurice Walton - Sophomore - Chandler-Gilbert Community College
Wide-body post player Maurice Walton averaged 21.5 points and 12 rebounds, while shooting 57.9% from the field - going in 1-1 conference games this past week to move Chandler-Gilbert to 16-9 on the season and 9-8 in the ACCAC.
