Recently, as a result of a new staff taking over at UC-Santa Barbara, Shadow Mountain High School's talented and gifted 6-foot-1 senior point guard Marcus Shaver decided to re-open his college recruitment and go back on the recruiting board.
Shaver originally signed this fall with UC-Santa Barbara, but when the current staff's contract was not extended, Shaver decided to re-open his college recruitment. UC-Santa Barbara long-time head coach Bob Williams was released from his contract with the UCSB program at the end of this season.
Shaver moved back to the state of Arizona this fall after playing as a junior in the state of Texas. Shaver is fresh off leading his Shadow Mountain ballclub to an undefeated record in the state this high school season, and this year's 4A State Championship.
Shaver is among the best available guards in the West, and a big-time athletic talent with a superb skillset.
