Syrene Sanders is a solid player who loves the game of basketball. Syrene currently plays for Mineral Area College in Missouri, but played her high school basketball at Shadow Mountain High School. Syrene averaged 15 points per/game @ Shadow Mountain, while maintaining a 4.0 CUM GPA.
Syrene stands at 5-foot-4, with some very good ball handling skills. One big strength of Syrene's game is her ability to drive to the lane. She plays fast, and loves playing defense.
"I love playing defense, because it tests how strong I can be on the court. I love the challenge of guarding the best player on the opposite team," said Sanders.
Syrene understands that every good player wants to improve their game.
"I think I can improve in how I shoot the ball, especially my perimeter shooting," said Sanders.
Syrene credits her parents (Kyle and Mary Sanders) as being her biggest inspiration.
"They inspire me to be the best person and player I can be," said Sanders.
Syrene loves Kobe Bryant, and credits the energy she brings to the game to that of "mamba mentality. " He inspires me because of his "no quit attitude and mindset."
Beyond the basketball court, Syrene loves going to the gym, working out, coloring, drawing, and hiking. Syrene has goals of playing pro-basketball in the WNBA or overseas.
Syrene is very active in her community and has volunteered to feed the homeless and be an advocate to help those in need in her community. Syrene is currently in school with a major in Kinesiology.
