NBA STAR DILLON BROOKS HEADLINES HISTORIC WEEKEND AS ARIZONA PREPS JOINS FORCES WITH DILLON BROOKS INVITATIONAL
28th Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase to Feature Elite Basketball Competition, NBA Stars, and Special Guest Appearances at Inspire Courts, October 17–18
GILBERT, AZ — Arizona Preps is excited to announce a major addition to its highly anticipated 28th Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase, as the prestigious Dillon Brooks Invitational will join forces with Arizona Preps for an extraordinary weekend of basketball competition on Saturday and Sunday, October 17–18, 2026, at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, Arizona.
The collaboration brings together two outstanding basketball events under one roof, featuring many of Arizona’s top high school basketball programs and prospects, along with nationally recognized prep basketball teams competing as part of the Grind Session-sponsored Dillon Brooks Invitational.
Phoenix Suns NBA star Dillon Brooks will be in attendance throughout the weekend, including a special appearance on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM. His involvement adds tremendous excitement to an event already expected to be one of the most memorable in Arizona Preps’ 28-year history.
Additional Phoenix Suns players are also expected to make appearances during the weekend, providing young athletes and basketball fans with a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of professional basketball stars supporting the local basketball community.
“This is an unbelievable opportunity for Arizona basketball,” said Anthony Ray, Senior Editor of ArizonaPreps.com and Tournament Director of the Arizona Preps Fall Showcase. “For 28 years, our goal has been to create meaningful opportunities for young basketball players throughout Arizona. To now have Dillon Brooks involved, along with other NBA players, and to bring the Dillon Brooks Invitational together with our event is something truly special. I believe this has the potential to be the best Fall Showcase we have ever hosted.”
The weekend will also feature two special guest speakers with strong ties to Arizona basketball.
On Saturday, October 17, at 2:00 PM, former NBA standout and Arizona basketball legend Jerryd Bayless will address participating players and families. Bayless, a former University of Arizona star who enjoyed a lengthy NBA career, will share his experiences and insight into the game.
On Sunday, October 18, at 2:00 PM, Phoenix Suns first-round draft pick and former Perry High School superstar Koa Peat will make a special appearance. Peat, who led Perry High School to four consecutive state championships, is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished high school basketball players in Arizona history.
Peat’s return to Inspire Courts carries special significance, as the facility played an important role in his early basketball development.
“Having Jerryd Bayless and Koa Peat involved in our event is tremendous,” Ray continued. “These are individuals who represent the highest levels of basketball, and both have strong connections to Arizona. We want our young players to understand that their dreams are attainable through hard work, dedication, and commitment. Being able to see these NBA players in person and hear their stories is an experience that can have a lasting impact.”
The 28th Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase has become one of the state’s longest-running annual high school basketball showcase events, providing a platform for emerging prospects to compete, develop, and gain exposure.
The addition of the Dillon Brooks Invitational further elevates the level of competition and excitement surrounding the weekend, creating an outstanding environment for players, coaches, families, basketball enthusiasts, and members of the media.
The expanded event will feature basketball competition throughout both days, with numerous Arizona high school programs participating alongside nationally recognized prep basketball programs.
“This is about much more than basketball games,” Ray added. “It’s about giving young people an experience they will never forget. Dillon Brooks and these NBA players taking time to support our youth is a tremendous statement about the importance of giving back.
