Central Arizona College (10-7, 3-6) defeated Chandler-Gilbert on the road on Wednesday evening and improved their record on the season.  Central Arizona overcame a game-effort from Chandler-Gilbert, who is much improved this season behind the terrific leadership of head coach Steve Silsby.

Central Arizona worked the ball inside, made some timely outside shots, and kept the turnovers to a minimum in the win.

6-foot-6 sophomore wing Karriem Simmons (pictured) finished with a game-high 23 points in the victory, as Central Arizona led at the half by one-point, 40-29.   Central would outscore Chandler-Gilbert 46-41 in the second half for the win.

Sophomore forward Isaiah Bellamy knocked down 6 of 10 shots from the field, and also hit a couple three-pointers to aid in the victory - finishing with 18 points.  6-foot-8 freshman forward Girts Lazdans hit 5 of 8 shots, including two three-pointers for 14 points.

Chandler-Gilbert's 6-foot-1 freshman guard Kendrick Williams is among the best guard prospects in the conference.  Williams finished with 18 points and 5 assists in the loss, while 6-foot-6 sophomore forward Kendrick Gannon scored 18 of his own.
