The 1st Annual Area Codes JUCO Jamboree will take place this Sunday, October 6th @ South Mountain Community College, and will feature many top-rated junior colleges and prep schools in competition throughout the day. Organized by regional basketball scout Chad Groth, this event will be very exciting for everyone involved, and will be filled with college coaches in attendance to catch the action. There will be junior college programs and several prep schools in action on the day.
Top-rated national junior college program Salt Lake Community College (UT) will be in action and participation in this year's event, which is a tremendous addition to the tournament field. Salt Lake CC is coached by longtime Division-I assistant and former Head Coach Dave Rice. Salt Lake will be featured in several games on the day, including exciting match-ups with ACCAC Conference standouts Arizona Western and Cochise.
There will be many college coaches, scouts and media in attendance throughout the day, and our Arizona Preps' staff will be in attendance throughout the day as well to bring you coverage of our top overall performers and prospects from the day.
Arizona junior college basketball is now on the rise in the state of Arizona, and looking to get back to the level it once was. Through more promotion of top-rated juco prospects in the conference, the schools in the conference are looking to build stronger teams annually to compete nationally, and to help promote the prospects on each of the programs.
Our Arizona Preps' staff is definitely looking forward to this year's event, as Arizona junior college basketball looks to go to another level with events like this. Stay tuned.
