Yuma Catholic is located in the Western Arizona corridor, approximately (3) hours West of Phoenix. My colleague and Arizona Preps Western Scout Leo Scott has done a phenomenal job in providing coverage for Western Arizona. One of the players he advised me to watch out for is 2023 prospect, 5-foot-7 point guard Reese Sellers. Sellers had a stellar junior year in leading her team to the 2nd round of the 3A playoffs.

Her season stats were 16.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 6.2 steals per/game. I was able to observe her impressive performance in her team's first round match-up against Coolidge High School. It seemed like she utilized the first quarter of the game to measure and break down her opponent. As the game went on, she heated up on both ends of the floor.

Sellers impressed me with her performance, as she is extremely skilled and possesses a high basketball IQ. She was a phenomenal leader in which she did not hesitate to guard the opposing team’s best player, or take initiative to have the ball in high pressure situations. She is a 3-level scorer and down hill facilitator who looks to get to the charity stripe. On defense, she is a great on-ball defender and has good anticipation to read the passing lanes.

She was the difference maker in the first round playoff game, as she finished with 22 points, 5 assists, 6 steals, and 1 block.

Her game has left a lasting impression on me and I anticipat e her college recruitment to skyrocket this upcoming spring. I see her being a low-major Division-I prospect with tremendous upside.
